I still want to play as Geralt, but wouldn't at all mind playing as Ciri, which would make sense since she's become a newly minted witcher.
Oh man.
Well, this seemingly contradicts every report on map size I've been hearing.
Whatever. Doesn't matter just make a game that's fun to play.
I don't think it's a "huge bottleneck" either, merely a disadvantage. We'll have to see over the course of the generation just how much of an advantage PS5's SSD will have. Hopefully third parties make as much use of the SSDs as first parties.
I'm definitely expecting better loading times and streaming in of data for the PS5, but just because the PS5's SSD is better doesn't mean this is a bottleneck for Series X. That's like saying ...
...just...

I like it too, but I'm glad that we got what we got. I think they chose the right model and it worked. Though it was a whole game (as games should be) the episodic delivery throughout the game was neat too, and the way the told the story - I really liked that.
Well I'm glad that didn't happen.
More Alan Wake please.
I love how fanboys are playing tug-of-war over this Sweeney dude.
Only on N4G.
Lol, now we're down to "no" because you've stubbornly denied your way into a corner. Admirable.
It's a problem for those five people, therefore it's a problem. How widespread, how many people, all that is irrelevant.
If it's a problem for one person it is a problem.
"It's not really an issue, though. It's a classic case of mountain out of molehill. You also can't trust anyone's accounts of things, especially on reddit."
Game patches can fix a host of small issues, but they're still issues. Even if literally nobody experienced them prior to patching, they were still issues because they had a chance of occurring.
You're literally saying that a problem isn't a problem because you th...
I can dig that, but I didn't think it was solid enough.
There were a few (too few but a few nonetheless) moments that I loved. I actually enjoyed the Shinra Building (mostly) and the propaganda hologram film thing they showed to the crew. I thought that was extremely well told and presented, and I think the game could have used more of that.
I agree about the pacing and inconsistency. I could go on and on but it's getting late and I'm gettin...
"Each new area still has it's own set of enemies with their own mechanics to learn, their own character development sections/cutscenes, a great boss fight 9 times out of 10, etc."
I think you're attempting to give more weight to things than they actually carry. Okay, you have to learn enemy patterns and behaviors, each with their unique skill sets, but how potent and effectual are those things, really? Enough for you, perhaps, but not me. I didn't thin...
You think it's revolutionary? I'm not sure you understand the meaning of "revolutionary." You could call it unique, and charming, or cool or whatever, but revolutionary is absolutely overboard.
"Revolutionary" was when at-home online gaming phased out the arcade industry. That was revolutionary. That term is way too heavy to describe a method of giving a player environmental cues in a video game.
Recore was one of the dullest games I've ever had the misfortune of playing.
Just an absolute bore.
"Calling on the wind" is a quaint little method of finding one's bearings that's more charming than it is anything else. The idea is that the Samurai or Jin is using nature to guide himself.
Animals like birds and foxes are just different forms of 'guiding wind' that point you in the direction of secrets and NPCs. It's a little whimsical and very spiritual/nature-y which appears to be a theme in the game. The Samurai is 'one with his surrou...
Smashing civilian women dressed in common garb with a flaming 2-story hammer should be a two-hit kill minimum.
@zigg
How can an issue, of any magnitude, be a non-issue. The issue is what's happening to people. It's an issue - big or small, it's an issue.
Looks like you've got an issue with it being an issue, and I take issue with that.
You don't even know what my taste in video games is.
All you know is that I'm not fond of this one.
@Major
It almost feels as though the PS5's SSD is only important because it beats Microsoft's. Were they equal, this wouldn't be such a focal point for fanboys.
Now they're painting it as if nothing else matters. All generation, most people didn't even know what a damn SSD was - it was all about the weak CPUs. Now that we've finally got more-than-competent CPUs, all that matters is PS5's SSD and anyone who wants to talk about t...
Same.
That's the first thing I look to do when I boot up any game initially. Though I will give the haptics a try to see if I enjoy them, standard vibration or rumble just irritates me. Rumble adds nothing to the experience for me. I don't feel more immersed in an in-game quake, or missile barrage because my damn controller is vibrating.
