Absolutely.

Great story and characters - all of them good. Phenomenal soundtrack as well. White Orchard is pure 'war ravaged land' beautiful melancholy. Velen's track is insanely good as well.

I thought the combat was fine, not great, but not bad. It's just a typical parry and strike system; not sure why people are as hard as they are on it. Perhaps because it doesn't reach the heights other areas of the game do. All those other areas ...

So far this gen, the game with the longest load time (that I played) was Metro Exodus. You could seriously take a small nap while it loads.

That's what I've been saying.

If there's cringe of a particular sort, I can deal with it and brush it off. I may not like what happens at all, but I'll always love these games, and I'm doubly sure after seeing this gameplay, that I'll thoroughly enjoy this game, and multiple times.

Looks incredibly fun and tense. Multiple playthroughs confirmed.

This is it - what I've been waiting for all gen.

The big one is here, and it... looks... awesome.

Oh you'll get it, friend. All games get the prestigious award of my opinion, lol. And I 'will' do it here, whether it goes against the order or not.

Agreed.

Nothing could dampen that excitement either.

1. This is Naughty Dog's biggest game.
2. It's The Last of Us.. 2.

And that says it all really.

"Now folks know they're not gonna get the same quality from the UE5 tech demo in-game anytime soon, if ever."

You really think that Sony's first-party studios aren't going to be able to top that demo at some point?

They'll definitely update their own best engines and they'll squeeze that PS5. I 'expect' Guerilla to top that at a date not too far off. Their other devs will probably will too.

I think it's more than just that certain group.

I think there's whole chunk of misguided people out there who think that because of the beefy new hardware, eeeeevvverrything's gonna be at 4K/60 and that this should be the new standard.

These types of thinkers always fail to take into account individual developer priorities, and where they may or may not choose to put their power. I don't know who told these people to have these expectatio...

Quality is certainly an issue as well - definitely, but this gen Microsoft didn't even bother showing up to the party. They never arrived. They've done a few things I've liked, but the general output of games and quality games at that has been simply nil, and that's the biggest problem.

Microsoft and Xbox need to consistently deliver tangible excitement from here on out. They need to be like Sony in that regard - how even when thi...

I agree.

PlayStation was first on the scene and they're firmly entrenched, and they've always solidly delivered with games. This has been consistent since the birth of PlayStation.

Though every brand has its downtimes, PlayStation has always kept up the excitement. If there was a dry point, PlayStation users would always be assured that a potential hit was just around the corner, keeping things exciting. Microsoft and Xbox on the other hand have s...

@Taco

Sony 'is' indeed showing that, and I'm grateful, but that's how it should always go. Supporting a system in its final year should be a thing across all platforms. It's just the thing to do. 'Oh, it's our last year we don't need --' 'Oh yes we do need to have games in our last year.'

Microsoft need to get their heads in the game and just start pumping out games, period. This isn't up for argument or deb...

^See this.

We've now gotten to a point where simply making games for the duration of a console's life cycle is "amazing" when it's really just 'nice' at best, and should be the minimum standard goal for all platforms.

I'm not downplaying this, but continuously supporting a platform until the next platform (at the very least) is simply the right thing to do. I mean, hell, the newer machine isn't even on the market yet....

I didn't know a strong narrative equaled an interactive movie.

I could've sworn I played a video game when I played the first game.

Wherever they want.

They've always made the games and I've always enjoyed them.

2225d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

I didn't even know it was bound for release.

I'll pay attention but I doubt I'd jump back into this.

I'll just keep my memories, and my money.

Day One, Hour One.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to stay up a few hours for this one.

I actually really dug it when it first came out. I thought the theme was cool and I thought I the combat was elegant. Definitely didn't age well though.

@shloob

Well, I didn't realize that, but a fireball belching bat is inconsistent with RDR2 lore, and I did realize that.

Isn't it kind of implied that it's not an official add-on because, you know, he's riding a giant bat?

'He's on a bat this time, Sheriff!'
