We can only hope it doesn't.
But, positive change is always less likely when so many outlets essentially legitimize and okay the bad aspects by lavishing games with praise and and high marks, and not adequately highlighting the negative.
People thought Breath of the Wild got some sort of pass too, but I think whatever pass 'it' got pales in comparison to the very obvious pass that this remake got.
Agreed.
No bypassing fights for me - especially in the first playthrough.
I'm gettin' em all.
Good.
Everyone's talking about how "dark" this game is and that's exactly how I wanted it to be.
Finally, after all these years, The Last of Us 2 in just fifteen days.
Yes.
I like their technical analyses and breakdowns anyway, and the bonus added popcorn factor never hurts.
Grounded is a step up in difficulty from Survivor.
Enemies are stronger, you are weaker, and the HUD is removed. Checkpoints are also scarcer, and supplies further limited.
I hope they release a Grounded mode later on like they did with the original. I'll definitely tackle and trophy both of those.
Looks incredible! Thanks, Phil!
Seriously though, it looks quite good.
Bloat is bad and consolidation is key.
Update: There is still no news at this time, which is 4:35 AM Eastern.
I personally loved HellBlade: SS. There were a lot of people that couldn't dig it and I understand that. There wasn't a lot to it; you had the basic combat and a bunch of runic alignment puzzles.
Still, I really enjoyed the world, narrative, and storytelling, and thought the experience was great overall, but I'm hoping that Hellblade 2 just gives us a lot more actual game, and ditches those puzzles.
This could be a really great new IP and it c...
I have no idea what to make of this game, but I think man-lion guy is cool.
He literally said "This seems", which you would think would be enough to tell you he hasn't concluded anything, and yet you're telling him 'he's' jumping to conclusions.
Looks great.
I've been looking forward to this all generation.
Soon.
If they could jump from 30 to 60 in the TLOU Remaster, I'd imagine they'd be able to accomplish the same with PS5 for TLOU2.
I expected nothing less, but this is great to hear anyway.
PS5, here I come.
You also don't think anything through - you just fanboy. That often happens with them.
"good luck to Sony to try and sell an underpowered and overpriced console."
Sony are going to absolutely steamroll Microsoft in console sales, and you're wishing 'them' good luck as if they're in any kind of significant underdog position - they're the top dog.
Microsoft carries a much heavier burden in the form of qu...
I don't think you know what "underpowered" means - you're just throwing it out to agitate.
The PS5 isn't "underpowered" even when compared to Series X. Underpowered means underpowered and a two teraflop differential doesn't render the PS5 "underpowered."
Keep swinging though.
This comment comes off the heels of the History special on Grant that I just watched, which I thought was fantastic and particularly insightful.
It recently aired, so if you have an interest in the Civil War or more specifically, Grant, watch this three part series.
Besides just being an awesome single player exclusive, hopefully Death Stranding sent a message to the developer community; a message prompting them to try new ideas that they previously thought would never be acceptable to gamers.
If your game is well executed (DS absolutely is) you can absolutely take a risk like Kojima and make it happen. We already have enough developers and publishers playing it safe. We could use more risk.
That's great to hear, as I really enjoyed Death Stranding. I think it's a one of a kind experience that should not be overlooked and forgotten, and I'm glad Kojima has enjoyed success here.
I probably spent equal time capturing images of HZD and actually playing it. I already know I'm going to push this photo mode to its limit.
So many poses, scenarios, angles, backdrops, blood, water, spores, etc. So much to work with in this photo mode, man. It's going to be endless.
