Being the largest outlet of video games seems to have it's perks with exclusive early pre-order rights.
I only go through GameStop when I absolutly have to (A.K.A Metal Gear Solid 4 LE).
Still, I don't think pre-ordering this game will be nessessary. The fact that there is, sadly, only a small niche for Street Fighter games will assure that anyone will be able to go to any place that sells games and pick this up.
The title is kind of a misquote.
The articals title is read as the persons difinitive statement on the genre of FPS's.
What was implied in the artical was a sence of the developer saying that people are tired of playing science fiction FPS's and now want something more real.
That's how I read it anyway.
It's comming along.
I'm not to much of a fan of "Stop and Pop" gunplay. It slows the pacing down a bit much when you're supposed to be in an intence gunfight and all you are doing is waiting for a blurry humiod figure to pop their body out from behind cover so you can aim down your sites and off them.
Realistic: Yes. Fun? Not so much for me.
I am very glad they tweaked the look of Ryu. Now he looks better, compaired to the "Incredable Hulk" he was before. I would love to see Updated Chun Li or Ken.
I'm also curious to see if they changed the Super Meter growth because in videos it seemed that by the time you finally filled your meter, the match was over.
I am still not to keen on the "2.5D" graphics that Capcom has applied. They just see Tekken and Virtual Fighter doing so well, and th...
My question is: When the interviewed the Director of this game he said it was taking place just after the origanal StreetFighter 2, and he said very specificaly, before "New Challengers"(Fei Long, DeeJay, T Hawk, Cammy).
This completely contradicts that. Maybe he said he was unsure. If thats the case he should just abandon the story (or excuses in this case) and just chalk the old Super Turbo cast plus Gouki up there. Which I think they will do anyway.
I don't think that will be a case for the higher lv's of online play. Most people who are serious into Street Fighter will have purchased an Arcade stick.
For more casual players it shouldn't matter as they are less conserned about leaderboards and just interested in playing the game.
This winter? That's sooner than I expected.
I havn't heard anything yet on Gouki (Akuma) but I don't see why he wouldn't be in the game. This is supposed to be taking place after Street Fighter 2 but before Street Fighter 3 and Dictator (Bison/Vega) is still alive. So why not Gouki? If not then maybe a downloadable character if demand gets high enough.
Since this game is designed to draw in a new croud of fans, I don't see it being on the same level as Super...
Ah yes, I remeber the arcade experience. I'm rather happy about fighting games going online. I never had a chance to actually get to an arcade since they only appeared in large cities and I am no where near one. The only local arcades carry just racing games and shooters now, which is dissappointing.
It will be fun getting my hands on Street Fighter 4 and going against actuall people for a change.
Hey I love T&A as much as the next guy, but honestly I think Namco Bandai is stretching it a bit with their character designs.
Everything in moderation and all. It's hard to enjoy playing a game when you feel sorry for the girls doing all those moves with 10+ pound sandbags strapped to their chests.
It would be nice to see Fighter Girls get a little respect.
Valid consern. I am sure many 40gig and 20gig users are also in the same boat.
Unfortunatly there are not many options available for 40gig or 20gig adopters other than puchasing a larger Hard Drive or deleting old, unused instillation files.
However, this may not always be a perminent problem with the PS3 as it is still in it's infancy. Over time, we should see the instillations become smaller and smaller, and then become soley optional. Perhaps then vanish ...
Actually, in the link I posted it sounded like Kotaku would WELCOME the installation of games on the Xbox 360 as the PS3 does.
You know it's funny. On another thread there was a link to a rumored list of updates for the Xbox 360. One was "Support for titles to store instillation on storage devices for faster loading"
Granted this list is rumored, and seems that it would give "optional" install. However, the "option" of install is in the hands of Developers and not the consoles respective companies.
Koei type games are popular in Japan, but not so much in the states.
The PS2 is still on the market and has a huge installation base in Japan. The largest I believe. This move doesn't suprise me.
Give.
If you are going to condemn a game, then condemn the game after you play the full version. A 2 minute long demonstration is only good to make a first impression and can hardly enlighten you to what a game offers.
Once you play the full game, then yeah sure hate it to your hearts content. At least it will be your own opinion rather than someone elses.
Colonies Edition? I was under the impression this was the next chapter in the Lost Planet universe. Not a rerelease/multiplayer expansion.
The only single player perk I could see with the trailer is a "combo meter."
Unless the price point is exstremely low, I don't see anyone flocking to it.
I think the fact that the Xbox 360 does have an upscaler and the PS3 doesn't shows what the companies had in mind when designing their respective consoles.
Someone made mention that the first HD tv's were 480/1080i only. Microsoft probably saw this and designed there console to cope with the telivisions that were currently out.
Sony no doupt saw this as well. However, they probably saw ahead. Telivisions were being made with 720p/1080p settings and growing mor...
Very interesting.
It will also be intersting to see what sort of gameplay/design mechanics they will incorporate into the game other than the ones shown.
The comment of:
"So, by that we infer that any 'new features' appearing in the PS3 version will also appear in both PC and Xbox 360 games in some form."
Was delivered as an assumtion by the articals writer.
Otherwise I would find it hard to justify the suggested "re-purchase" of this game if there was nothing truly unique about one of the versions.
