Actually, a quick correction if I may...

The Xbox was a direct result of Microsoft working closely with Sega technicians. The same technicians that designed the Dreamcast.

The Xbox controller design was directly taken from the Dreamcast controller.

Notice how whenever he found someone he would iron sight, no matter the distance? That's a habit of Call of Duty players I've noticed.

The Resistance franchise is more about hip-firing rather than stop and pop like Call of Duty.

You should at least try the first if you haven't yet. One of the better shooters this gen.

I've heard this quote many times and it is very true for the most part:

"The only thing that can destroy or de-throne World of Warcraft, is World of Warcraft."

World of Warcraft has been through some rocky spots in the past with Blizzards decision making processes. The community felt that they made a lot of mistakes during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Where Blizzard seemed to cater to players that didn't want to play the game ...

I would take that argument at face if it wasn't for the fact that when female characters act in that fashion to the player's male character...no one so much as blinks.

Games have never really much cast homosexuals in a positive light. They tend to mostly go for overly feminine, flouncy stereo type. However, I think people have to remember that homosexuals as well as heterosexuals are human. They are subject to the same personality flaws as anyone else. There is ...

That was a nice, and genuinely level headed response I seldom see from this site.

Having said that, however, I respectfully disagree with your reasoning and conclusion.

This is not satire too me or a clever attempt at "tongue in cheek" humor. This is simple titillation. There is no hidden meaning here.

In fact I'm sure if you ask the game creators to explain the mode they wouldn't give a long speech about how they a...

So their reasoning for accepting and allowing the objectification of women in the game is the childish excuse of "..well other people have done it."

I'm sorry. whether it's in a game/movie/book etc certain things are just immature and in bad taste. Hiding behind the mantra "It's just a game.." doesn't cut it anymore.

Things like this don't really paint games, people that play games, or the game creators in a positi...

Not sure I agree with your accusing the console owners of complaining too hard.

The only reason the PC is even getting 64 players is because the PC owners complained and begged for more and Dice finally said "yes".

Given that fact, I feel that the only reason the console version of Battlefield 3 has 24 players is because console owners haven't complained to Dice enough.

Raising concern in a f...

We all have our preferences on what feels best for us in terms of what controller we choose.

Personally, I like the DualShock design more than the Xbox360 Pad. The Dualshock fits comfortably in my hands and I like the location of the analoge. Also the D-Pad but those aren't the only reasons.

I like having access to all 4 shoulder buttons simultaneously. With the Dualshock your index fingers rest comfortably on the R1/L1 buttons leaving your middle f...

That was a brilliant read.

It's not often in the game industry you see sexuality dealt with in such a mature fashion.

His arguments and his points are well presented and more than valid. Fantastic.

I would argue that a franchise would be better off moving systems if say the games are not selling or simply being ignored by the demographic. Moving consoles could possibly mean more exposure in hopes of generating more interest.

However, Nintendo franchises do very very well for themselves consistently. They see repeated success with every release.

The question really lies within the majority of 3rd party exclusives that have faired very poorly when c...

Actually, I would say that regenerating health is the joke.

Many shooters, both 1st and 3rd, have a game mode that don't allow for respawn until objective is complete or the entire team is eliminated. What set's counterstrike apart is your teams ability to money manage. It adds another whole layer to the game.

Counterstrike is a very serious and unforgiving game to learn unless you have a group of friends willing to teach you and help you. It&#...

From the quote given, they don't exactly seem sure when/if the new consoles will be showing up. This seems more like a pre-emptiv.

In fact, given the events in Japan this past week, I wouldn't be suprised if this was a project to help relieve some of the pressures of Square Enix JP.

After Japan has settle and if the new home consoles havn't been released, this studios focus will probably be the 3DS and NGP.

Having 64 players on one platform and not the others is a huge discrepancy. The experience would literally change from one to the other.

What bothers me is that stubborn console players will not want the visuals sacrificed in order to gain what will arguably be a better online experience in terms of gameplay. They, seemingly, do in fact just want Bad Company 2 with slightly better graphics. That to me is disappointing.

Console users that want a true B...

I would in fact accept the argument that what matters in Duke Nukem is the gameplay, however, I haven't seen enough gameplay to reassure me that this isn't just Duke Nukem with popular shooter archetypes attached too it.

Part about what made the Duke Nukem games fun was health conservation and ammo rationing. In these "leaked" gameplays I can already tell the Duke has regenerating health. I just can't imagine the Duke taking fire then hiding behind a...

Possible the collection could see a delay. There was rumor that Sony was planning on releasing a demo of The Last Gaurdian with the collection. They may have pushed it back to allow a more accurate demo to be attatched before it goes on sale.

Then again if this was pushed back because Ueda said that The Last Gaurdian needed some extra touches...then The Last Guardian needed some touches.

Still looking forward to both the collection and The Last Guardi...

I'm also not convinced.

The first posters picture does a lot to prove the insincerity of the image in question.

Frank West was selected as the playable character. Strider would be on the screen as the assist, however why not just take a full picture of the fight to show Frank as well?

More so, in this day and age where every phone has a camera and the ability to record video. Why not just take a video instead of a still?

I don't think Ninja Theory ever intended to raise a flag and try for complex fighting mechanics. They've never been about that and that's OK. Heavenly Sword and Enslaved were good experiences that focused more on story and character development than complex mechanics.

I understand the concern over the combat mechanics of the previous DMC's being opted out but in the end that's what's probably going to happen.

The overly comp...

You can't really blame the man for wanting to expand his product's expossure to a wider audiance, and more income means his team will be able to progress and continue making quality titles.

What he and I think most people don't understand is that people are fickle and will say, "No." to something for the silliest reasons. It's a Call of Duty market and generation right now, and titles such as this are often quickly tossed to the side in favor of y...

The man commented on Ico being more an experience rather than a video game, and I'm sure he's using the word "video game" in a very commonly precieved sence. He's not incorrect with this seeing in what drove Ico wasn't the combat mechanics or leveling up characters, it was the interaction between the hero and the young girl.

Shadow of the Colossus was an experience as well, though focused more in the video game world of mechanics such as the sta...

Either the individual playing has been playing is overly used to playing Call of Duty or Resistance has turned into a "stop and pop" shooter.

Resistance (at least the first) was "run and gun" style and I do hope that with a return to the first Resistance's roots, Resistance 3 would be the same.

I'm hoping it was this individuals Call of Duty mindset that is attributing to the play that I saw.
