I can agree with that. However, the spoilers of something and the finality of a story can easily be taken out of context. It could be, yes, the character might be a metaphor for trans-individuals since most of Altus's Persona series tackles these themes with metaphor. I mean you can't judge a masterwork painting on the focal point--you need to see the whole painting before you can get a good read on. Judging by their character Erica, and how different Japanese culture is, I'm ...
Hey hon~
Atlus advertised this game a certain way, which lead me to believe I was going to get a game going in depth on the lead character's conflicted feelings about a trans-woman. Given the previous game was about a man's anxiety over relationships, commitment, family raising etc--I figured it was a safe bet.
Now I find out that's not what the game is about at all--yeah I'm disappointed. I'm not telling them they should change it, or telling...
Disrespectful language from the author regarding trans-women and characters aside, I'm a bit disappointed as Atlus has handled mature topics like sexuality and gender identity before in their Persona series. Reading this news simply makes leads me to believe two things: It's a false rumor to throw people off the track, or they shy'd away from tackling the subject of trans-women and the emotions cis-straight men have in regards to them. I mean the original game already flubbed th...
I'm not sure DICE can really do anything due to EA. No matter what feedback players give, no matter if DICE fully intends to make a great game with amazing ideas, it will always be undermined by EA. They'll need to design the game as a platform for micro-transactions, budget will be cut to silly levels to get the biggest return, and content will be cut to sell back at a later date through DLC and season passes. You can't make any sort of good game of an existing franchise with ...
You mean a horse power console release of one of their most popular franchises and a remake of a popular classic were really popular and did well? Go on.
I'm afraid they'll need to do a lot more for longer if they're going to win me back as a supporter. Now they just need to stop hiring Guilty Gear players and share holders to design their fighters. I also want to see creative and new IP's.
The law is being pushed on the back of a nine year old study which concluded " that exposure to violent video games is a causal risk factor for increased aggressive behavior, aggressive cognition, and aggressive affect and for decreased empathy and prosocial behavior." Which I mean--no duh. This is what happens when you're playing and you get frustrated in games.
However, when it comes to linking violent behavior (there is a difference) between violent video...
Oh look at that. It's almost like fleecing your entire flock doesn't produce the same amount of wool when you do it every single day.
I'm all for inclusion being on the LGBTQ spectrum, myself. This, however, is just "gay baiting". We've seen it all over the entertainment industry. Gay Baiting is when you make a character a specific orientation but don't actually give evidence of said orientation within the context of the story. A great modern example is Dumbledore from Harry Potter, as the character was outed as gay by the author but no evidence of the characters sexuality exists or how it's a ...
I disagree to an extent. If there were games the "hardcore" crowd wanted to play on mobile then they'd play them--it's part of being "hardcore".
However, the problem with the mobile space is the same problem responsible for gutting the gaming world in the late 70's/early 80's: too much uncontrolled crap with very little ability to find quality. Fold in exploitative stuff like what we currently have rampant in the mobile space and yeah yo...
My guess is they saw the "people who played the demo" number and based this number off of it. What sucks is even if this was lifetime sales, the amount of microtransactions, season passes, and DLC will see EA make way more money than they deserve.
About Twin Snakes: "..streamlining the game-play and making just the right of improvements without fundamentally changing what made the original so good."
Oh yes. Sticking a first person mode into a game not designed for it and giving the player a ranged knock out didn't undermine the tight level design, challenge, and boss fights at all -eye roll-
Let's not forget the "Grip" meter which you can use to pass up entire areas o...
You'll need to buy sprinting separately for each type of suit, however. It's also a consumable, which only lasts a handful of hours. You can earn them in game by standing still for 3 hours waiting for the bar to fill--limit of 1.
Games Workshop, the Warhammer 40K company, does this, too. They do however micromanage their deals so smaller, untested creators get offshoots from the lore while larger, more proven creators can work with Space Marines and the like.
I don't think Disney is as willing, however, to share like that as they have been known to be very ridged when it comes to their IP's.
One reason: Games as a service. (Gaas)
Create an environment where players need to log in everyday and have to play for as long as possible so they will be more inclined to spend money on the game in the form of expansions, DLC, and microtransactions.
EA wants their own Destiny to tap into the shooter GaaS market along side games like The Division.
I do wish number scores would take a powder. Everyone sees the number and argues it instead of the points. Heck most of the time everyone agrees on the positive and negative aspects of a game. I mean if you agree with the shortcomings and strengths of a game why does the number matter? Especially if you've played the game and come to your own conclusion?
Given I've enjoyed Kingdom Hearts up to this point, I already know I'll pick the game up at some point....
We've always had difficult CPU opponents in fighters. The CPU can read inputs, has intimate knowledge of all moves and frame data, and instant reaction speed. We've had this since the first Street Fighter. What I want is organic CPU opponents. It sucks knowing I want to dash in for a what I know is a 50/50 for a human opponent but against the CPU they counter it every time which leads to uninspired single player gameplay. Game play where you simply find out how the CPU reacts to ...
The review was written by someone who has enjoyed the series and has been anticipating Kingdom Hearts 3 for the last 13 years.
Nothing you mentioned about Kairi is present and it's rather odd you'd manifest straw-man criticism to make a point about something you could have easily argued correctly had you just read the actual review. Honestly, I felt the review was interesting from certain positions. The author makes a point about the convoluted story-line but that...
Thanks to gambling devices in their most popular games, they saw a record profit of 7.16billion in 2017--this was never going to be sustainable. With the USA headed toward yet another epic recession and legislation coming for gambling devices in games, there's nothing Activision Blizzard can do other than reap the only outcome possible--collapsing under the weight created unchecked by their own avarice.
Had a little peek over at twitch. Of the 117k viewers, 101k viewers are being supplied by only 4 streamers. Only two streamers are responsible for 88K of those 101k viewers. Those two streamers are Summit1g and TimtheTanman--two of the most popular variety streamers on Twitch. Call me crazy, but I don't feel this is a good way to judge a game's popularity. What's more popular? Four people playing a game where there are 100k viewers or 200 people playing the game with 100k view...
I know~ =) Mostly because I know Atlus has better things to do than comb the forums of an NA based gaming opinion/news site. I'm afraid there's no "value" requirement on N4G keeping me or you from posting on this forum so till then I'm just gonna keep posting as the rules allow. ^_^
Oh, thanks for reading my comment and leaving one! Would you like to take the time to discuss Altus's history of progressive introspection and exploration of LGBTQ...
