A real 'Gamer' would be happy there is choice and difference in our industry...instead willing failure.
Not entirely convinced there will be a significant difference over 720P and 1080P to most people, when you consider the majority of households (in the UK at least) TV sets range between 32' & 42'. Those size TV sets offer litte visual improvement, or too little to notice to the naked eye. So unless you game on a 50' plus screen 720 & 1080 is not that important IMO.

There are few games that make me forget there is a PS4 on the horizon....I want The Last of Us right now more than I want new hardware.

I sure hope it's still playable for those (like me) who don't do motion controls....looks interesting, but i'm not interested in purchasing PS eye cam & Move controller/s to play it....I just prefer a standard controller.

Making PC > Console comparisons is a pointless exercise
There will never be a sustained period ever, where consoles will outperform PC's. It's just a fact...
PC games downgraded to consoles is something we'll just have to accept. I am happy with what the PS3/360 is pumping out right now (7 years old or not), and am patient enough to wait until the next iterations of which will eventually still trail high end PC's in raw perfomance.

Sony say stuff about Nintendo, Nintendo say stuff about MS, MS say stuff too....that's 3 major players in an 'Industry' where it's been well document that they all dish dirt when they want to....
Sometimes in an unprofessional way...same with EA, Activision and analysts like Pachter says dumb unprofessional stuff...Peter Molyneux bad mouthed MS when he left.....so whilst I agree not all are unprofessional...many are.

I can see a future where Sony could become a service provider to any device and people wont require dedicated Sony consoles anymore....PSN & Live will eventually bring in more revenue than packaged games and consoles combined.
....I can see MS following this trend, if not setting it. It may not happen overnight...but I fear it will happen :(

Nintendo will still look visually appealing when the (other) consoles launch....I really don't believe MS nor Sony will offer a massively significant improvement.
Propably will do some effects more efficently and more detail, but the average Mo & Jo won't notice anything but a marginal improvement.
Still, looking fwd to PS4 regardless :)
