Nintendo are running a different race, so no camparison there....regarding Sony...you can't say for sure what they'll do....

DEFINITELY NOT....one for me , but I am pleased with the risk/diversity Sony have demonstrated this gen. Sometimes it is their undoing, but it's nice something so corporate, can feel so uncorporate In my most humble opinion.

You only need look to Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Rockstar Games and Konami to understand the PS3 can sing in the right hands.
It is less about hardware intricacies (especially after 8 years with PS3development kits) and alien architecture, and more about developer proficiency....

There is absolutely nothing within the Activision roster that warrants the purchase IMO. Both MS & Sony have their own key franchises.
.....and for the love of gaming, let's hope Apple don't snap this opportunity up....I dread to think what could happen if COD and other IP's became exclusive to any platform.

With respect...if the behaviour of some teen online or the fact that you seem to ignore other genres and keep purchasing FPS's suggest that you have the wrong hobby in gaming....or you're seriously one dimensional.
You can easily ignore FPS's due to the sheer choice of genres available to you...and have you ever heard of Single Player? ..you do realize you don't have to sign in to play your chosen console/s.

To illustrate just how capable the PS3 was in its early life cycle...the original HS still looks great to date!
If this is 'ON' I would very much like it if Sony re-issued Heavenly Sword with Full Trophy support prior to releasing HS2.

Forget 4K....just make sure every games's 1080P 60FPS as standard & make sure there's plenty of RAM Sony!!!

....How cool would it be if R* considered a PS4/720 GTA V (side stories like BOGT) within the 1st year of the arrival of those systems. That could give us something extra whilst waiting for the inevitable GTA6!!

But, really if you're still profitable and your games still look good, it makes business sense to continue investment recouperation.
We need to stop chasing the PC super spec...consoles cannot compete with that frequently upgradeable technology. Consoles are very different and should be seen as so....

Do we really believe MS or Sony can afford to sell us a mass market console that will significantly blow the (rumoured) Wii U specs out of the water?? In this recession?? ..At a sub $500 price point?? Get real !!!!
Sure, the Wii U may not be the most powerful on the block come 2014...but it wont be significantly inferior to whatever MS or Sony release...and i'm a PS user stating this!

Agree on the advantage sold numbers thing....but (much like Wii) Nintendo will grab the casual market, whilst core gamers will sit and wait impatiently....you also sight Zelda & Smash Bros. as killer IP's....maybe so, they do sell well....
....But I think most John and Jaynes are waiting for the GTA's, dare I say it ...the COD's/BF's, Halo's and Uncharted's of this world.
