I hope this 'PS Plus' thing continues at some stage, on some level with PS4.
I would happily pay a years sub on my (near future) purchase of PS4, especially if Gaikai, PS Plus and some other non-free features were included.
Please leave PS Home on PS3 though...PS4 would be better without it.

Microsoft have consistently let down the Xbox brand.
MS killed off Xbox in it's prime for the initially unreliable 360 successor. This with no regard for the Xbox loyal.
MS pimp out the same IP's year in year out. They charge to play online and for simple content like Youtube/Catch Up TV. All completely free on other consoles & devices.

It don't matter when/what MS release or what it costs...N. America will still lap it up because of MS marketing strategies and some undying sense of patriotism.

Deep Silver are not prolific at anything. Say what you like about EA, Ubisoft and Activision, but they all produce far better quality and more interesting games.
I regrettably purchased Dead Island. Sometimes it pays not to get hyped over a game, and read the reviews instead of pre-ordering. Dead Island is a sham of a game. I expected more from the trailer, but instead we get a farcical romp in a Zombie invested generic (Far Cry, Crysis etc) location with so-so graphics.

Look, for the money the consumer is expecting to pay (£300-£400) for a PS4, I would suggest that it is damn good value for money, considering the hardware is good for at least 5 - 6 years.
The last of Us and Beyond are running on 10 year old tech, since the components existed before the production of the now 7 year old PS3.
Ask any PC evangelist to build a gaming PC to the equivalent of the (archaic) PS3 for £199 from scratch. Include Blu Ray d...

I have a weird feeling PS4 is going to provide PS2 levels of enjoyment concerning JRPGS.
PS2 was by far Sony's greatest achievement from a sales perspective and game output.

I don't think FPS's on PS4 will be an issue of over saturation.
Most PS users I have been blessed to know since PS1/PS2/PS3 are a savvy bunch who like variety and are willing to try new game genres.
Even if some of those niché games are more of a critical success than a commercial one.
Lastly, PS4 game development costs less than PS3's game development due to the easy to use PC architecture. So there should be more developers...

As much as I respect Nintendo's long standing prominence in this industry...
Every statement coming from camp Nintendo seems to suggest 'In time' ...'with time' ...'Next year Wii U will have games..blah blah blah.
Just a bunch of promise after promise. Yes we know Zelda, Mario 3D and Metroid will come eventually....but after folks invested £299 premium duties, Nintendo needed to deliver like yesterday.

Sony should promote PS Home and use it as a unique selling point along with plus to keep PS3 going even longer.
Eventually PS3 (and 360) will be fully catering to the casual market as soon as PS4/720 become mainstream and the current gen falls as low as £99.
Makes sense to keep PS Home exclusively on PS3 for that casual market.
