@cez of rage
Hmmm I see your point (NOT!)
Is that why almost every 1st party exclusive is beyond reproduction on the 360??
Ken Kutaragi was correct about the 360 being an xbox 3.5, because to date the 360 cannot exceed its graphic capability from 2007/2008.
Gears 3 looks very similar to all the other Gears (no matter what fanboys think), and Halo has not evolved significantly IMO since Halo 3.
Loo...
@WhiteNoise
Are you seriously trying to flame on me???
Try harder to disguise you're an illiterate fool!
...and read with more care next time.
I commented... 'Even if the 2 are 100% identical...' Moron!!
Not saying Sony is any different, but Microsoft always seem to make statements regarding how much money they are pimping out of their users.
It's true shareholders, investors are the basis of the business, but MS clearly demonstrate that it's only about money for them, and less about the game experience to the consumer.
Perhaps MS would do well to be a little more tactile.
In a weird way...I think that chick outta Killzone 3 looks hot for a video game character. Very nice indeed.
Cue 'Our version is better than yours' rhetoric.
If 360 Crysis 2 gets 9/10's across the board, then expect the PS3 version to receive 8/10's because even if the 2 are 100% identical, reviewers will find an excuse to lower the score citing the controller is best for 360 or sub 720P or mandatory install...or whatever, as tends to be the trend these days....tsk!
Everyone knows by now the NGP name is a place holder. However, it's good to see Sony returning to grassroots level. The PS3 (was) notoriously difficult to program at first, but most studio's have managed to harness it's power.
I would like Sony to call the next PS (PS4) something else. Maybe return to the days when consoles were named to describe power..like Genesis or something. Remember the hype PS2 evoked when Sony used 'Emotion Engine' for its GPU? ...
I was never a fan of this game, and with all the awesome games coming this year and next, it'll get lost in the bargain section. Move on Rockstar......
....and leave HHG alone. Sony wouldn't sponsor this guy if he was full of S**T, and he seems to get many developers to discuss games on his show, which shows they seem him as credible. Hate HHG if you want to, but ppl like HHG make the games industry a little less about suits 'n shareholders, and more about the common gamer in the real world.
Okay, I jest, but really, you can't tell me MS are clutching at straws. Look at the history for 1 minute...
MS purchase Rare, for 330 million dollars, yet Rare have produced nothing significant to date. Purchasing Lionhead has only produced the Fable series to my knowledge, then MS attempt to poach every significant Jap PS2 game for 360 as an exclusive, which didn't have any baring on its fortunes in Japan.
Now MS find they have no major games to...
@ManiacMansion
Dude, you're comment is utter crap! How can you comment the PS3 1st party titles don't use HDR??? Even Ridge Racer on PS3 used HDR, and GT5 has taken HDR to another level.
You claim fake rendering, yet HDR is old tech from 7 years ago. Please if you're going to make a comment, make sure you have factual information.
Oh dear, Microsoft haven't a clue have they. More Kinect games rammed down their user base's throats. When will these suits actually embrace gaming instead of creaming as much cash from the consumer.
I really don't believe this is what 360 owners want or indeed need. Stop pursuing Nintendo, it'll backfire Microsoft!
I support the notion, but the developers would do well not to alienate the male demographic since males spend more on games than our female counterparts. But in theory it's good there is an all female outfit in the games industry. :)
I believe the graphics are possible in stills, but soon as you see developers attempt to move them, you will see screen tearing, frame rate drops and let's not forget storage. The 360 would use all the dvd9 capacity attempting to display this level of detail in a real world game environment.
Both the 360 and PS3 can display anything you see in this latest (Unreal) tech, but ram will be the main issue for both systems.
It would be cool for 360 owners ...
Killzone 3 could have been perfect in every way....but garden trolls and fanbiatches would still say negative stuff about it.
Killzone series FTW!
@Breadisgood
C'mon dude lighten up...i'm just kiddin' about the Halo/True Crime thing...but I stand by my comment.
MS do seem a little desperate right now. I actually feel sorry for 360 owners, MS aren't fighting their corner. MS make all that money and the they give users Kinect.
Kinect is cool for those who want it, but 8 million shipped/sold or whatever is a far cry from the alleged 50+ million shipped/sold 360 user...
Well what a surprise, 9/10 from xbox 360 game reviewers!
I admit to agreeing with most of what they wrote, accept the game is not short at all. It could be longer, but so could a lot of great games...but most FPS games played on easy/normal won't seem long. Play this sucker on elite mode and you will understand pain and longevity.
I've had this baby since launch day and started it on the hardest setting prior to unlocking elite...it's so thri...
I had the 1st shift which was surprisingly good for a while, but after spending so much time tinkering with GT5, there's not much room for this on my radar.
I know many will say this game is way more fun and looks better (fine, their opinion), but I have the most complete racing game I have ever had in GT5, and to buy this too...well i'd see it only as a temporary distraction.
We always get pumped for new cool games, and no, ppl wont agree now, ...
I'll make a prediction...
If Microsoft gets True Crime they will run it into the ground by making True Crime - Combat Evolved , True Crime Combat Evolved 2, 3, True Crime - Wars, True Crime - Reach Out and Touch Kinect Edition... and finally, True Crime - We Managed To Get You To Buy It Again.
Really, is MS this desperate for exclusives they resort to scrapping the bottom of the barrel? and YES True Crime was never a big deal ...until MS rumours floa...
Medal of Boredom is what it was. I only liked the setting, but more importantly....how late is this review...why bother now?
I can understand GT5 reviews still coming in (GT5 is complex and time consuming), but MOH is a 4hr play thru.
I recently saw the UK ads on TV recently and we're forced to watch them at every moment on PS3 4OD channel. It looks fun and the graphics look good...but I can't help feel it's Gears in disguise graphically.
Why do all unreal engine games have to look so generic??
Slightly off topic...I read a lot of comments that PS3 cannot do Gears visuals (mostly from fanboys), but Unreal Tournament (2007) and this current Bulletstorm game are IMO Gears vi...
