*Looks at morganfells pic and unsure whether it's legit, he no less reads the "yes I have a 360" and can't help but think... "yes you have hairy arms!*
If it's truly yours nice TV btw. ;)
Anyways that "I know it is one of you last hopes" is silly, I've got enough problems playing all the quality titles already out, to be worried about all the awesome games in the near future. :)
:)
EDIT:
@PwnShop:
Suggesting bullripper's comments were clever is way too much praise IMO! lol But well put nonetheless. It's clearly an opinion piece and the guy uses a hefty chunk of text to explain his position.
But the best part is that he was one of the doubter/haters to begin with and has been completely turned around - "bear with me... as I eat some very humble pie" lol
Read the article, not the description above. :)
I think his point is that they're all fixed, and so that complaints that people don't have a free roam option are a bit rich.
Personally I like the strategic view better than iso, but each to their own. :)
Nah I had the same experience. Mine was noticeably louder (but not that loud!) for the first 24-48hrs before it went back to its usual quieter self.
It doesn't make strategic business sense. Many MS execs including Shane Kim have unconditionally outruled this and rightly called the 2.5bn price tag, as it did the Pandemic/Bioware $1bn sale to EA, overpriced.
If they didn't make an offer on Pandemic/Bioware, which in my opinion was a relative bargain full of talent and fresh IP tilted to PC & 360; then they're not going to go after Take 2 for almost three times the price (as a result of a bidding war) for one stand out deve...
Good point bout the camera, I felt mostly the same way. And the combat is a lot of fun once you properly understand it
But whilst you can argue FOR/AGAINST regarding the camera & combat, I'll be very interested to see what he has to say about the graphics, cause they really are lacking in places...
Although he did say he "decided Gears 2 would always look better"... No Sh!t Sherlock! ;) lolz
Well that sucks. The art design and concept art for Fable is some of my favourite across the industry. :(
Even Fallout's pip boy? ;)
I thought he'd be perfect. You could trick the GF that he's just a cute figurine, whilst you keep his truly dark undertones for your own hidden enjoyment. :)
Yeah tell me about it! lol
It beat out LBP & Resistance 2 on PS3, and Fable 2 & Gears 2 on 360, and multiplatform behemoth Fallout 3. All of which look amazing.
Res 5 looks good, but IMO not that good!
Agreed, I just want a beautiful art book and I'll be happy. :)
Either way it's an awesome brawler, and the 360 gamers only have to wait til the Fall update to get their optional installs as well. ;)
I don't agree with the walkthroughs. Personally I buy a game to discover it for myself rather than follow an instruction manual. :)
And the pricing is ridiculous. There's no way I'll pay AU$200 for a "keepsake" photo of two video game characters... I mean really?! lol
Fallout 3's LE/CE though, might have me if it's ever released in Oz. ;)
EDIT: I think I just import the best version and save myself some tidy cash at the same time. Although I st...
I hope so. At the moment Fable 2 will lose a lot of sales, due to the similar release dates.
I want time to enjoy both. :)
You guys are seriously good at taking quotes out of context.
"They are basically the forefathers of the MODERN DAY first person shooter ON CONSOLES."
So yes Goldeneye could be quite reasonably argued as the forefather of FPS on consoles... But it's not MODERN DAY, in which above all else is defined by Halo's dual analog sticks and multiplayer features that have become industry standards for the MODERN DAY FPS genre.
Nice try mate! lol
I agree with your sentiments on Half Life, but don't take the quote out of context. ;)
"They are basically the forefathers of the modern day first person shooter ON CONSOLES."
Is in recognising that choice and storytelling are evolving concepts in the medium, and as such earlier titles such as Jade Empire and Black & White did not fail but were rather early steps in the right direction, that more recent titles such as Bioshock and then GTAIV developed upon and improved. :)
The demo was conducted under the "bloody mess" perk. So whilst I expect Fallout 3 to be violent and gory, it'll only be turned to eleven with the perk. :)
Bubbles for an excellent rebuttal and civil argument.
I think you rightly point out the different points of focus of Halo and MGS, and they excel where they were intended to, but are lackluster in areas of less focus (Halo - single player story, MGS4 - multiplayer MGO).
But as much as I loved MGS4, I would argue that whilst it exceeds any other cut-scene driven story and certainly leaves Halo & Gears in it's wake, it at times goes perilously close to the extremes...
I loved the original Top Spin but was wholly disappointed with the sequel.
I tried Virtua Tennis 3 and loved the career mode but felt the actual gameplay was too arcade-like for my tastes.
I'm not sold on Top Spin 3, largely because I was holding out for a Fight Night/R* Table Tennis control scheme but I largely got what has already passed. The gameplay just doesn't grab me like those titles with dual analog sticks.
And I agree, it'll probably lose points for the camera and some questionable graphics, but the loot/combat/story will probably see it score around an 8 average on metacritic.
