Agreed Too Human FTW! :)
Man the first game was good but this is turned up to 11!
That co-op part at the end where one guys in a helicopter and he uses the winch to pick up his buddy in the tank to create a flying heli-tank is completely, utterly, ridiculously awesome. :D
EDIT: Only 2 player co-op mate. Like Crackdown. ;)
"Well I don't lurk, I post, thanks very much :)
And my take on it is:
a- I feel bad for the SK team because it sucks to work hard and get poor reviews.
b- I feel bad for Dennis- even tho I don't know him beyond a few emails over the years- because clearly he is a passionate man who is having to deal with two tough situations right now (the mediocre reviews of a game he clearly loves, as well as the situation of being made out to be a bad guy amongst the co...
I gotta sneaking suspicion this will become an underground hit that spreads due to word of mouth from all those willing to invest those first 10hrs.
Still I gotta question the logic of why a developer would alienate the majority of gamers in the first ten hrs?!
I got it and enjoy it. But it took me at least three hours to come to grips with.
Yeah agreed. IGN UK said the same thing http://www.n4g.com/xbox360/...
"Is it possible to recommend, in good conscience, a game that only really becomes enjoyable after around 10 hours?"
Seems like the first playthrough is a grind but the co-op and higher levelling make replay a lot better.
Now if only Rare could tell their Lionhead comrades how to do a XBLA tie in. Those Fable 2 pub games are terrible...
Very surprised to see Banjo out one week after Gears 2. I didn't even think it'd make November! lol
Yeah agreed tbh I think every time he opens his mouth to attack journalists the further ensures that critics will never forget it come Too Human 2 & 3.
Is this the progression of games as art though?
Will Halo 3 be the Rambo/Arnie blockbuster to Brother's Schindlers List/Saving Private Ryan?
Yeah not my thing personally. If the reviews are decent I might reconsider. But my shooters are covered by Left 4 Dead, Gears 2 and Res 2 this year.
Although I'm mighty curious about COD5
Here's the linky http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News...
XboxOZ360 gave it 9.9/10 (their highest ever score) and said it was "closest thing to perfect since The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time".
I think what's more telling about the reviews so far is that 360 sites are disagreeing with each other as much as the IGN's and Gamespots are.
Too Human's like a "love it or leave it&qu...
Adding to my last should we now ignore TeamXbox's score of 6.5 as well, based on your flawed logic? lol

;)
Nah that was XboxOZ who gave MGS4 a 9.9 ;)
Bubbles for your logic amongst the malaise. :)
Your point about cinema, where critical reception and the art form are much more mature leading to far more diverse opinons, is a very good point.
But I suspect you logic is too much for the currently bloodthirsty N4G horde looking for Too Human blood. The irony is 360 players can now play Too Human and kill trolls! lol
Really enjoyable read.
The guy knew his stuff and is the first one to mention that the Combo meter is actually Too Human's version of mana for spell.
As for the graphical presentation. I can only assume he's including the art design with that comment, because the animations in cut scenes are occasionally embarrassing if not down right wrong.
EDIT: @Isaac - Because scores are all that matter and a recommendation of "Buy" doesn't. :/ end sarcasm....
Using that logic does the C- from 1up count given it was written by an OPM staffer? lol
I mean really at the end of the day this game is a love it or hate it affair. And the reviews will reflect that. Those who love it will buy it and praise it, and those who don't will deride it and move on to the next game (MERCS 2!!!). Simple. :)
It wasn't as personal as MGS4 or what Brother in Arms appears to be going for, but it successfully showcased the big picture horrors through particular scenes such as the execution, nuclear explosion, death post detonation, suicide, and the modern view of war via that airship level.
Even the better scores can't get their facts right! :(
TheHDRoom writes:
"even up to three buddies playing co-op online."
Count me in to. :)
Too Human has only been in its current Norse form since 2005.
Maybe if you read the article you'd see how incredibly different a game it was back in 1999 for the PS1 and then later (Roman overtones and all) on the Gamecube.
The only absolute similarity between 1999 and 2008 is the name, the rest is an entirely fresh beast. :)
That pretty much summed it all up! lol
