I liked the demo too and it pretty much sold me on it. Would've loved a multiplayer test drive though.
Agreed. Heck I got offered Mineweeper for free on XBLA and I didn't want it! lol
I haven't had the time to sink my teeth into Fallout 3 proper...
But Fable 2 is amazing. I'm on my second playthrough and stuff is so different from my first... heck I still check in on my first character just to see the changes that've taken place since I've been gone. That whole "Animal Crossing" social/economic simultaion side has consumed me, even when I'm not there! lol
But only buy the Knothole DLC when you've finished the game, otherwise it might spo...
Where are you guys?
*looks at NPD articles*
... Oh there you are! :D
I get it and think they're only robbing themselves of some great gaming... what I don't get is that according to XboxOz's diagram of a fanboi, testicles can sing! :D
I mean I know that (with partner in crime) they're quite capable of making others sing but.... errrr... am I missing something here?
Or does the lack of singing explain why fanboi's are always whinging instead? ;/
Yeah I know! lol
And I'd be liable to just scratch it up on the turntables!
What a waste... It could of been a Carmen Santiago. I loved that as a kid! lol
I hope your right and being an optimist I'm leaning with you. I've never thought it'd be a cash in... as the Halo franchise is too valuable to MS to cheapen it and stuff it up (see Sega and Sonic et al...).
If its as accessible as claimed then it'll be a success with Halo fans who don't usually touch RTS (I'm thinkin 2m in sales) and the story looks like it'll leave the FPSs for dead.
Personally, I just hope its the most fitting of swan songs for Ensemble.
I agree with most of the Top 5... but most of the rest, bar Far Cry 2 which I haven't played, hardly seem deserving of my personal Top 12. Where's LBP, Fable 2, GTAIV and Banjo?
Rubbish list.
You can actually do that. You can rock up in another person's kingdom online and then destroy and/or change their buildings... although I spose that's a shared sandbox experience at its best! lol
YEah problem is it could've been so much more. It's good fun for a few hours here or there, but I wouldn't go back to it after finishing it like I do Geo Wars and Castle Crashes. Good for the casuals though! ;)
I think GTAIV, MGS4 and Halo 3 have proved that if you have a heavy franchise you can sell regardless of the time of year. I also think that Sony and to a lesser extent Microsoft will be looking at the cannibilasation of sales over the heavy release season of their big exclusives (Resistance and Fable 2 in particular) which have had to compete with a swathe of third party titles in the same genres (WaW, Fallout 3, etc).
I'd also argue that publishers taking risks such as Microsof...
Err well Banjo: Nuts & Bolts got 9.5, Gears 2 a 9.8 and wait for it...
MGS4 a 9.9! lol
From an Xbox site no less.
@Dark
True, but I think Fable is more a mix of genres than a straight RPG. It's like RPG, Action, Adventure, Simulator, MMO and the Sims all rolled into one. It doesn't all work, but you can't fault its ambition. ;)
Dark seriously man. This game was built for consoles. Just as gaminoz points out.
EndWar, Halo Wars, Civ Rev are the new breed of console RTSs that shock horror you'll need a console to play cause they're not designed for a mouse and keyboard or in the case of the latter two aint coming to PC! lol
On another note the only reason I haven't bought this is I played the beta for four weeks and had a ball but then the game got released within days of Gears 2, Left 4 Dead,...
Well put mate. Nothing worse than sticking your head in the sand. Bubbles! :D
Yeah XIII looks promising but I'm much more interested in Star Ocean 4 and what the Mistwalker boys are up to.
Lost Odyssey is my favourite JRPG of this generation so far and a sequel to that, plus news on Cry On and that Blue Dragon sequel would be damn welcome! :D
As for Square, well all developers go through growing pains and that's exactly what's happening with them post merger and expansion into the West. They're going to try a lot of things to find a new di...
I think there's a pretty strong argument for Christianity advocating, or at the very least accepting, violence. If someone can find me a book as violent as the Bible which is full of rape, genocide, mass murder, etc, (much of which is advocated by a vengeful God), I'd love a link.
If the Bible were a video game all other game's would be child's play! lol
Personally I'm an atheist but I have nothing against those who choose to have a faith... except for those zealots who contradict their very own teachings!
I particularly dug the “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?” (Matthew 7:3). Nice!
Thank you for an intelligently argued piece and pointing out that games are simply the new lackey for moral panic just like radio, TV, Comic Books, Hollywood, Rock n Roll, Hi...
Well I'm not "Stoked" about that score! lol
I get why people don't get Halo 3. But its only their loss and our gain. The community efforts of Bungie are truly extroadinary and anyone who's played Halo but hasn't used/played Forge is missing half the multiplayer pie!
Mmmmmmm yum.
