I know! Dare I say it but EA came out with some awesome games this year! Bad Company, Spore, Dead Space were all tops, then FIFA, NHL and Madden were as good as they've perhaps ever been and then there was the still enjoyable but limited Mercs 2 and Mirrors Edge..
Next year we've got Skate 2, Lord of the Rings Conquest and probably a sequel to one of the above already in the early pipeline!
I'm starting to suspect Activision with its milking of Guitar Hero, Call of...
... says the man who according to his website loves building Far Cry 2 maps... maybe Banjo might interest you... or maybe even... *hush hush*... Little Big Planet! lol
Bubbles for BrotherSic! :)
What about the jingos, easter eggs, boxes, etc they're not on map until you find them by... exploring!
And a true fan would recognise that the spirit of the franchise is very much alive in this new type of game... maybe a true sequel will come off the back of this game's success for all those wearing rose tinted glasses! lol
Who ever said this was a sequel?
I hope not... that'd suck! lol
Well I'm runnin 1080P on a 42" Bravia and it's definitely an occassional issue. What's funny is it doesn't chug or skip it just goes into a super slow mo speed. lol
The frame rate really is embarassing at times... but it's still a nice trip down my childhood.
It's just awesome having Banjo back! two games in one month! lol
I love the game... and after playing the original on XBLA I'm so glad they gave the old school platforming the flick. Not to diss the original, but it's just a product of its time and games have moved on.
Oh and btw all the levels rock... Although I'd agree that LOGBOX can be tiresome with its verticality... but it makes up for it with awesome humour.
Well ur hatin the wrong guy! lol
Sure sometimes they make some odd decisions but really the finger ought to be pointed at Michael Atkinson who's stonewalling the whole issue and the Federal Government for not generating the political will and momentum for the issue to be more rapidly addressed.
Apparently it fell very short! I mean c'mon... only 5hrs!!!
I love Evo... but FIFA really looks the better football (proper football!) than Konami's effort. If Evo could just get the engine and licencing right, and dump the cheesy 80's rock and synth soundtrack I just might go back to my old home again.
Agreed! ;)
Talk about coming full circle... games based on sports and now sports based on games! lol
Although the only way I learnt about American Football and became a diehard Steelers fan was courtesy of Madden on my PS2.
Gotta love those stats! :)
Bots and split screen!
Thank you EPIC. :)
Nothing strange at all... In fact with the original Gears I used to interchange it with Viva Pinata! lol
I'd get all grisly and morbid and then use Viva as a change of pace. This time round I'll likely do the same with their sequels although Fable 2 is like crack, and Banjo looks like an awesome time waster alternative.
In a perfect world Microsoft and Sony will make beautiful gaming love together... and in that case the perfect world is at my place! lol
Can't wait to play MS' heavyweight on my beautiful Sony Bravia. :D
And nice review. :P
I would've referenced President Bush's disgusting vetos... but each to their own. ;)
And yes the state of gaming classification, prices, broadband speeds, industry assistance, and KRudd's proposed "great firewall of Oz" are f'in ridiculous!
I'm lovin it... in fact I've barely moved the story forward I'm just lost in the world and the social/economic simulations! :)
Most fun I've had with a game all year! :)
Yeah I've been really excited about the innovation this year in the industry and the move toward much higher production values.
For innovation Braid, Fable, Banjo, and LBP all immediately come to mind.
For production Gears, GTAIV, Dead Space and MGS4 were amazing.
