But there wasn't even a "score" given in the original review (which was terrible anyway). That's the point.
I have a better title for this article:
"Darklink28 is a Fraud"
Please keep your trash clickbait garbage off of N4G.
What most people want to see is solid specs, good features, a better screen, and no gimmicks. The 3DS was such a cheap, low-tech, gimmicky device, Nintendo clearly cut many corners to keep their profits up.
@ Otaku - You really have no idea what he's talking about, do you? All your digital purchases are tied to the 3DS you bought them for, if it breaks, is lost, or stolen, you lose all your digital purchases.
Don't try to make excuses for this anti-consumer policy.
If the NX isn't a replacement for the Wii U and/or 3DS, then Nintendo better get moving and work on some new gaming hardware ASAP, since the 3DS and Wii U are both on the way out. Or maybe they're getting out of the gaming business, and transitioning to their "quality of life" line of business now.
Sounds like a joke, we all know Nintendo doesn't have the expertise to make any kind of cutting edge technology products; if that's what it really is, it's going to be a total bust.
Why the Wii U isn't "still totally worth buying":
-- Way overpriced considering the weak specs and missing features; at this point, it shouldn't cost more than $150 for a bundle including several games.
-- Small library of games, with entire genres almost completely absent (FPS, racing, shooters, action/rpg, etc.
-- Awkward, distracting, oversized main controller with poor battery life (and you can't even buy extra gamepad controll...
Nobody wants to buy a Wii U for a handful of decent games, it's just not worth it.
I agree, but I wish they put more effort into the SP portion, including offline MP with bots, or offline play with snapmap levels.
Reality check, Nintendo has proven again and again that they prefer to use the cheapest possible components when making their gaming hardware, and cutting every possible feature out to save money and pad their profits. No reason to believe that the NX will be any different, so don't get your hopes up.
Wii Fail U, please understand.
Why would 3rd party developers waste time making exclusives for a console with a fraction of the install base of the PS4 and XB1? Nintendo fans wouldn't bother to support their exclusives, just like they've done countless times on past Nintendo consoles. Makes no sense at all.
I agree. If they blow it this time, they're done in the gaming hardware business.
But they can just become a 3rd party developer, and make games for other systems. No big deal.
Totally agree. The sooner all these cheap plastic gimmicks go off the market, the better.
Doubtful, based on past history.
No, it wasn't 3rd party developers fault that Nintendo produced a console that was low-spec, feature-lacking, and gimped by a gimmick, making it unable to compete with the current generation consoles. Stop trying to blame 3rd party developers for Nintendo's own bungled product.
Great article. Their Number 1 recommendation is the point I have been making for YEARS:
"Stop innovating solely to innovate"
This is Nintendo's core problem, and the biggest reason that the Wii U failed. The gamepad is a gimmick, one that degraded the gaming experience rather than improving it. Forcing the use of the gamepad into games, like Star Fox Zero (which is specifically mentioned in that section of the article), just ruins those gam...
Maybe on your Fantasy Island world, but in the gaming industry and community, Nintendo has been irrelevant for a long time.
No, not "hating", just really surprised that Nintendo would allow a broken game like this to be released. It was supposed to be a huge hit on the Wii U, but clearly it bombed.
69 overall score on Metacritic, with most reviews mentioning the terrible controls. A mediocre game at best.
There were very few "positive" reviews for Star Fox Zero, and the few I saw were from diehard Nintendo fansites that rave about anything Nintendo release...
Another lame non-article from examiner.com, no surprise.
