yeah, but when's the last time you played an iPhone game with decent graphics, deep gameplay and that lasts for more than a few hours? Ever played a 3rd person GTA on the iPhone? What about a good fighter or a true RPG?
I love my iTouch, but the games on it are rather unimpressive compared to what the DS or the PSP have to offer. The better games on it are tower defense games, sure I love these, but Wc3 did it better.
An Xbox handheld would be quite surprising, as it would be in a very weird position. Both the PSP and the DS are going very strong right now, worldwide. They both have a great line up this year and most likely will still have one for the next few years. Their cycle isn't over yet.
As for the iPhone/iTouch, I can't see MS really compete with them right now. The Zune never proved to be a real threat to the iPod despite being (in my opinion) the superior one, with better software an...
Had to send my HP laptop twice last year because of the 8600M in it :(
Yeah, you're right about the loss, forgot about it, my mistake. However, I do believe the division will be profitable again soon, as the failure rate of 360s, while still higher than the Wii or the PS3, has gone down. The E74 error doesn't seem to be as rampant as the RROD was, so warranties shouldn't cost as much to MS as they did before.
Anyway, my point wasn't that MS was making money off the 360, it was that their gaming division most likely ain't their main concern right now...
While MS could use some of that money for their gaming division, it is highly unlikely. The 360 is currently making money and is in a very good position, it doesn't need more funding. However, with W7 coming out very soon, MS might want to advertise it, alot. Despite the fact that Vista is a somewhat competent OS, the general public still sees it as some kind of buggy pre alpha software made in a basement. MS will most likely try to show the world that W7 is NOT Vista and is a good alternativ...
Actually, from what I read, T2 only owns the publishing rights to DNF, the DN IP in itself is still owned by 3DRealms. If indeed 3DRealms is gone and this is not just a publicity stunt or something similar, the IP will most likely have to be sold like the rest of 3DR's assests.
come on people, don't argue over this rumour. It's pretty much baseless right now. I mean, the main point of the guy is that since DN3D made it to XBLA, it likely that MS wants DNF as an exclusive.
However, isn't DOOM also on XBLA? Even DOOM3 is in the Xbox original store (I'm pretty sure I've seen it), yet iD software hasn't announced any 360 exclusive yet.
And seriously, who would buy 3DRealms? I love their games, but from a publisher's point of view, it doesn't m...
While I believe that the demise of 3DRealms is real, if it were a publicity stunt, it would be a successful one. They also released some trailers/concept arts/screenshots of the game, and most of them looked somewhat good for an unfinished game. There's also all these rumours and stories like the chair thing with Cliffy B. going around and really putting DNF back in the mind of gamers. And there's also the Duke Nukem trilogy coming out soon.
DNF is everywhere in the gaming medias...
True but they did somewhat worked on Max Payne and Prey. They did not develop them, but they helped it come to life, which gave them money.
They also worked on some non 2D games, like DN:ZH for the N64 and the ones on the PSX. Zero Hour was actually very fun.
Well, even if the Wii has been out for some time now, it is still in experimental stage for most devs since it uses a new control scheme and has an heavily fragmented user base. It also uses tech more similar to the PS2 than the PS3/360, meaning that you can't really make a game on PC/360/PS3 and simply port it to the Wii like they are doing with most multiplatform titles.
Mature titles on the Wii haven't sold that badly, as some have even passed the milion mark, however, this n...
Well, they pretty much tell you what happened in Venezuela, they don't really go in details but you get the idea of what Kane did. Also, a prequel couldn't really be called Kane and Lynch since they both meet for the first time in the game. But then again, I might be wrong, it has been a few months since I finished the game.
hmm, can't wait for Hitman 5, but Kane and Lynch 2? I played the first one, gameplay was decent and the story was rather okay.
However, how can they make a Kane and Lynch 2? From what I remember, the 2 endings I've seen pretty much concluded the story.
how is it irrelevant?
Can either the iPhone or the DSi prvide a 3rd person GTA game? so far, no
The DSi is unable to render 3d games to the level the PSP is able to. On the other hand, the iPhone is close to the PSP and might even beat it, however, it doesn't allow for traditionnal controls in most cases, which makes it a rather lame platform for many games. The iPhone also has a shorter battery ife if you use it for 3d games. Finally, as far as the iPhone goes, the low price of m...
have you even played blood on the sand to say that it sucks? while it lacked multiplayer, the game was fun. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it didn't suck. The graphics were okay, sound was annoying for me since I'm not a 50cent fan and all you hear is either him or his songs, gameplay was actually very good and the story, well, while being on the sucky side wasn't as bad as some other stories I've seen in games lately.
as for bulletproof, I won't argue about the fact it sucked.
it's true that entertainment uses ressources, however, pretty much everything these days does. Also, movies use CG alot more than before, which reduces the need for real explosion and stuff. Video games are going for digital distribution. Books can now be purchased digitally. Cars are going hybrid and even electric. Also, plastic, glass and paper is being recycled more than before.
As for electricity, while I'm not saying we should waste it, doesn't have to have an impact on the ...
no.
Edit
To quote Yuri at the end of RA2:YR; NOOOOOOO!!!! Also, you can look at my avatar to have an idea of his face when he shouts that.
good article, brings up some good points.
another PSP announcement? woah
seriously? I thought the wii was like 2-3 Xbox, and the Xbox was like 2-3 PS2, and the PSP was a bit less than the PS2.
then again, it's all stuff I read in blogs...
"Why is he racist? He is right that this game is highly offensive. If they made a game just about killing blacks, people would go CRAZY"
Yet, when it's about killing asians, germans or arabs, no one complains. But blacks and jews are a big no no. As a matter of fact, you could make a game which is only about killing arabs and dogs, and the only complaints tou would be getting would be for the dog murdering. So yeah, people ARE hypocrites, no doubt.
Also, I ...
