Ugh don't read it. The first freakin' paragraph has spoilers that I wish I hadn't read.
I'm a doofus who skimmed to the beginning, missing the SPOILER warning as well.
FML.
Marty O'Donnell produces the best scores in gaming.
Well it was set aboard a pretty big spaceship, so there won't be a ton of variance in the environments.
I loved Dead Space. I slept on it for a while just because I was skeptical since it was an EA release. My expectations weren't high, but it delivered an amazing experience and now has set extremely high expectations for the sequel.
People tend to start hating on anything that gets too popular. It becomes popular for a reason, then some people are late to the party and don't understand why so many people love. Others feel the sequel doesn't live up to its predecessor. Whatever the reason, for every person who hates a game, there are 20 who love it. The disgruntled people are the most outspoken for whatever reason.
I don't even care about FaceBook, Last.FM, Zune Video etc. I pay about $35-$40 for my Live (Ebay is your friend), and I feel Live is worth it. There's no way I'd pay $100 for the current crap they offer, but I would probably pay $60 (or whatever price I can find on Ebay for cheaper) for the online play, and hopefully party chat would be part of that tier.
I have two CE's pre-ordered, one from bestbuy.com and one from gamestop.com. I also have a standard one pre-ordered.
Mass Effect is my favorite game, and I wanted to make sure I got the pre-order exclusive from GameStop, and the pre-order bonus from Best Buy (which is also available from amazon.com). Whichever one I don't have to open will be getting returned to GameStop, because I absolutely HATE their exclusive pre-order bonuses and don't want to spend money in their sh*thole s...
Yea the ending to R2 was pretty crazy. It'll be interesting to see where they take it from there.
You know what else I'm waiting for and it seems it'll actually get more than a two year turnaround? Gears 3. The end to Gears 2 was pretty crazy!
I feel you dude.
Mass Effect is my favorite new IP, and probably my favorite game ever, and it's been torture waiting for ME2. I think it's getting a little more than two years of dev time, but it'd be worth the wait if it was a few more months, just to make sure the game is right.
I want them to take their time.
Too often this gen, sequels are on a two year dev cycle. It'd be nice if devs waited an extra six months to a year to really make sure the game is right.
If Dead Space 2 is anything like the first, it'll definitely be worth the wait.
ODST's score is the best. Hand's down.
I agree with you on everything except:
"Halo 3 still have tens of thousands of players to play with online even after 2 years upon its release."
It's way more than that! In the past 24 hours, nearly 600,00 people have played Halo 3.
Also
"According to the recent leak, Reach will feature squad commands, a Call of Duty-style perk system and of course, new guns."
If Halo: Reach has a perk system, I think it will detract from MP. Halo's MP is balanced. Everyone starts with the same weapons, and everyone has an equal chance to get the power weapons. Perks and leveling make for unbalanced gameplay.
Even if the in-game graphics don't dazzle and wow, I won't care, because the gameplay will be top notch and balanced.
They blend run n gun with air and land vehicular combat amazingly.
The musical score will be top notch, just like all Halo scores are.
The story will be great as well.
Anyone who says Halo is generic, probably hasn't played it. Almost every single Covenant weapon is unique and very creative. A lot of the UNSC weapons are crea...
Why are you commenting on a game in which you have no interest?
It seems like Spike wanted to spread the awards around so one game didn't dominate.
I agree on Uncharted as GOTY, but Nolan North should have won best Male Voice.
Jack Black's opening was horribly lame and once I saw that I knew the awards would spread around.
Wow. It sounds like ME2 is going to be huge in scope and that they've fixed all the minor issues that ME has.
I just finished ME for the sixth time and it's even better now than when I originally played it.
I have been waiting for ME2 for so long. January 26th cannot get here soon enough.
I just want to see the footage of Halo: Reach and the new game announcements.
The awards themselves will probably be a joke. No matter what games win, Fanboys will be crying that someone was paid off, or the awards are rigged and whoever runs it (Spike TV I guess?) is biased.
Dual console owner, and I've never played a God of War game (missed last generation entirely, sadly), so my first GoW experience was with the GoW3 demo, and it was pretty cool.
I just finished playing Dante's Inferno demo and I must say I enjoyed it more than the GoW3 demo.
That's not to say DI will be better than GoW3, I just enjoyed the demo more.
I'm a single player campaign gamer first and foremost. I LOVE a great campaign. Three of my favorite games have been single player only (Dead Space, Bioshock, Mass Effect). It looks as though only BioWare is sticking with keeping it SP only, which is really a shame. 2K Marin and Visceral Games should keep the sequels SP only.
Oh well, I guess MP gives people an incentive to buy rather than to rent.
Halo 3: ODST offers more replay value than almost any single player only game, barring RPGs.
I paid the full $60 for it and I've definitely got my money's worth from the game. Firefight is awesome, and once the Halo: Reach beta drops, it'll make ODST that much more valuable.
