It's mainly because GT5 doesn't just appeal to gamers it appeals to anyone who is a petrol head. I know loads of people who are getting this who aren't really gamers but are crazy about cars and happen to own a PS3 :-)
I cant really say I know much abou the process of making BD's but I'm pretty sure Sony will have more than one plant, and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't take them more than a couple of weeks to produce 10mil copies across their different plants.
Why is this even news? And I love it how the title comes off like it's a fact that its not releasing on Dec 5th. And yet the whole article, all 3 sentences of it, are pretty much saying how this date is just a rumour so basically no one has said it will be the 5th, but no ones said it wont be the 5th either! So unless you know a release date for a fact, gtfo.
@fordgtguy, I did say, "other than proper gamers" so yes any gamers, ie people who play games and visit gaming websites, that I know have heard of kinect, but no casuals I know have. And I certainly haven't seen any advertising in the UK other than in the gaming press.
Strange thing, I don't know of anyone who is even remotely interested in kinect and other than proper gamers I don't know anyone who's even heard of it? So who the fuck is placing all these pre orders?!
To be fair to OPM they were supposed to have the world exclusive GT5 review in this issue so this was presumably a last minute decision to fill some pages and sell some magazines. Still sucks that they're trying to flog it as if its a review when it aint.
Only if you try to play it like an arcade racer!
I pre ordered it about 2 years ago!
I was kinda joking, but up yours anyway, just for taking yourself too seriously :-)
Why have such a silly conversation, its a video game! And not one that has ever been touted for its realism!
I have that stand for my DFP GT and It's awesome. I don't think it would get in the way of braking with a g27, go to GTplanet lots of the guys on there use it with g25's and 27's and I don't think anyone's complained about it.
And btw, lets not forget that it was the PC that gave us all the FPS games with regenerating health, and infinite continues.
Console games all used to be hard as nails, seriously, go and try completing Rayman, I dare you! And serious kudos to anyone who ever finished Desert Strike, I did eventually, but not before many a joypad had been flung.
While I agree that 'most' ie casual GT players will use a pad, they will most likely be playing it on standard physics with some if not all driving aids on. Most proper hard core GT fans, myself included, do use a wheel and play on Pro physics with all aids off.
Like he said, check out GTplanet or any other GT forums, most folk use steering wheels.
I'm not saying It's real or anything but IGN said they received their review copy before the delay was announced but were told to destroy it after the delay was announced. So these guys probably just ignored that instruction .
Some people just don't understand how these things work. Apple may have recently had a hell of a lot more revenue than Sony but I can assure you that Sony are worth a hell of a lot more than Apple could ever afford.
Sorry to burst your bubble AndrewRyan but Apple could not buy Sony, thats to suggest that Sony shareholders would even sell!?
I didn't get one :-(
I knew I was too late, I totally forgot it was Wednesday that day! Gutted. It wasn't till about 9.30 at night that I thought Oh S**T it's wednesday F**K! And then ran to my PS3, alas I was too late, hey I still got the theme though, yay.
I got it too, haven't played it all that much but it is definitely good. Does feel like it really should be a twin stick shooter though not M&K. I did try it with a pad but it's too hard to map the controls for! Valve should give us a default gamepad map.
I half agree with you, it was annoyingly tricky at some parts but I think thats what made it so good.
But definitely more enemy variation is needed.
@Dmarc
You got that right, I wasn't planning to get Blops at all but now that GT5 is in limbo I'm gonna get it to fill the gap. So if anything Sony delaying GT5 has helped Blops, not the other way round.
Boohoo, if you want to put Chrome rims on your car, go play NFS. I won't even see my own cars wheels! Why the feck would I care? GT isn't about modding cars. (face meets palm)
