You are absolutely right about Pc in the living room. I built a cheap HTPC for streaming in my living room. My tower is in my study and I Game-stream to my HTPC.
While building 2 Pc's may not appeal to everyone, You can gamestream to pretty much any laptop. Then HDMI to your living room tv and you are set!
Cooler Master and Corsair make some pretty tidy Pc cases that can fit nicely under your Tv. If building is your thing, you can definitely customize...
"As to the expectation that PC, especially Steam, replaces console in terms of input that is somewhat true but there is an elephant of convenience in the room."
Convenience such as Couch Co-op, Multiple controller support, and AAA games? Big Screen mode essentially turns your Pc into a console device.
You can stream PC games to an NVIDIA Shield if you have an Nvidia card in your PC. I play my Shield all the time. It has a bazillion emulators and the streaming is top notch. Since it is also an Android device, you should theoretically be able to play PS4 or eventually X1 through Android apps in the near future.
GTA V cost around $265 Mil to make and yet made $800 mil in the first 24 hours of release. That to me would be a hit. Since its release, GTA V is on pace to make over $1 Billion in revenue with its Remaster.
That to me is Massively Profitable. Destiny has burned through its good will already with the mediocre launch. They will have a hard time the second time around with selling people Destiny 2.
They could have done a more adult themed commercial rather than cram adults into this one. Nintendo can really have fun with their commercials. I think they should get a little loose and let the marketing dept spend some cash. The money they save with their Nintendo Directs could be put towards some really clever adverts.
They should have used 10 year olds for the reaction clips. Would have made the commercial much more appealing. Watching 20-30 year olds achieve climax on the New 3DS is pretty dumb.
Gotcha. Then Im double-sad Ninty hasnt started teasing us yet. This game could be a real mover on the Wii U.
I think if NASA got behind this tech it would really be helpful in their future endeavours such as training and Public Relations. Plus it would help some VR devs financially get their projects off the ground as well.
Win/Win
Why hasnt Nintendo riled us up with a teaser date at least? This is a big step for their 3rd party support. I would hate if Nintendo wasted it by not giving it enough commercial attention.
Damn title had me believing GoW was headed to next gen and PC.
Great minds and whatnot.
Cheers
Too bad about the Author's use of the word "Literal". It makes me figuratively Insane.
You may want to stick to the "PS4" tab at the top of the site.
Excellent news. I really hope these games open the floodgates for early to late 90's Pc titles to come to android. The Hexens and Doom 3's, maybe some Quake and Jedi Knight 1 & 2. KOTOR and GTA:SA are phenominal on Android. I hope these devs keep cranking out the hits.
Off Topic: My god it is almost beyond my comprehension that all these older games are now played on a simple cell phone.
Lego Marvel Superheroes is still a game I cant stop playing. 100+ hours in and still love it.
I never understood why Valve never released their own VR. They sure helped out Oculus in the beginning.
PLUS hearing that Valve may reveal a new OpenGL makes me very excited as well. GDC cant get here soon enough.
Im hoping beyond hope that the old Star Wars games follow the lead of KOTOR and release on android.
PPSSPP has been in google play for months....
You can be sad all you like. Tacking a controller onto an already portable device is cumbersome and redundant. The Shield is controller and screen in one. Its my preference for sure.
Youre absolutely right, they are optional. However I am always left with the feeling that the Dev held back in the hopes for more money off the hop.
I mean, if the game is released in a finished state, why couldnt you add those skins in the first place?
