What he neglected to mention was that the 4 that Goldeneye supposedly got was out of 5, from Gamepro.
j/k
That Crysis screenshot is what some people like to call a "bull-shot," or enhanced/photoshopped devshot. Those screens are rather old development shots, and the final game doesn't look like that at all.
This is my favorite KZ2 shot (which is actually in-game and not prerendered): http://images.gamersyde.com...
Don't know why people keep doubting this guy. Actually, I have one good guess why.
You're actually correct in your statement that the PS3 doesn't have a hardware scaler like the XB360. However, games like Dark Sector, GTAIV, and Haze can run in resolutions such as 640p and 576p BECAUSE the developers can opt to use a SOFTWARE scaling solution to scale these resolutions up to 720p. Sure, a software scaling method such as this will have a performance cost, but you should realize that the PS3 is not limited to line-doubling--it can do software scaling from any sub-720p resolut...
Take Two never said "no PS3 Bioshock?"

Name one thing she's been wrong in?
Heavy Rain was never officially announced as a game. It was just the title of a tech demo. And don't twist the facts, she didn't JUST say they were making Call of Duty 5; she said they were making Call of Duty 5 and CORRECTLY PREDICTED that it was going to be another WWII game.
'Nuff said. Besides, Surfer Girl says these rumors are false, and that Bioshock is definitely not coming to the PS3, as much as I don't like that fact. And I trust Surfer Girl on a lot of things. It's time for fans to put this speculation to rest, because it's getting to be repetitive and embarrassing.
Jdoki, you can joke however you want, but Quaz51 is well-respected in the Beyond3D community. He's proven himself time and time again in finding out the correct rendering resolution for dozens and dozens of games.
Also, just because this community manager says Haze runs in 720p doesn't mean anything; he could just be saying that it outputs at 720p, but the game itself is rendered at a native resolution of 576p (and is upscaled to 720p output).
It sounds TERRIBLE. Not to mention extremely stereotypical of black people. His voice from the last trailer was much better.
Very good looking CG.
I loved you in American Beauty.
What's ironic is that some, if not most, of the complaints to Microsoft were made by other homosexuals and/or gay-rights activists, about the tag "thegaygamer" being HOMOPHOBIC.
I love seeing these instances where political correctness and oversensitivity come back to bite itself in the ass.
You know, I've played the Jericho demo at 1080p, and there's NO WAY that game is only running at 560p! It almost looks like it's running at 1080p native, that game is so sharp. I think someone made an error in counting the pixels of Jericho, because from what I've seen that game is ULTRA sharp. Sharp enough to make me think it's running at 1080p native.
Maybe the final version of the game is different than the demo? Can anyone confirm?
Again, it appears you're another person who doesn't know about high-definition signals. Your TV might detect the Haze demo as outputting 720p, but it's not really running at 720p natively--it's running at a native resolution of 576p and UPSCALING to a standardized high-definition output (in this case, 720p). Your TV has no way of telling the native rendering resolution of a game; you would have to count the pixels by eye (like Quaz51 does).
The final version of The Darkness on PS3 also ran at 576p. This is according to the Eurogamer.com Face-Off article.
Well in that case, consider me "pwned." It seems like you probably know quite a bit more about the subject than I do, and aren't the "noob" that I initially thought you were.
Perhaps not "amazing" based on a static image in and of itself, but I can imagine seeing it run and playing it in realtime, and in motion this might look amazing, then.
I'm happy that Guerilla gets another half a year to polish things up and improve on this game to reach its full potential, because I already have way too many great games to look forward to this year, particularly First-person Shooters. It's a stacked year for AAA games, even more so than last year, in m...
Honestly, it looks improved to me. And trust me, I'm a realist, not a fanboy, when it comes to evaluating graphical quality; I criticized the PS3 version of GTA4 heavily for its graphics when it came out. But this is one of the best, at least better, looking screenshots of Killzone 2 that we've seen.
Thor, I'm not sure you know what you're talking about. Ambient occlusion doesn't cause a "grainy look." Nor do you or I know whether it's "faked" here. I kinda doubt you know what ambient occlusion is; maybe you can elucidate it for everyone.
Haze never got me hard once. Not even in the figurative sense.
