Anyway, judging by the gameplay video, this game looks freaking mediocre as hell. Welcome to 2007 (Turok, King Kong, etc.).
The only problem is that the game gets worse every year (primarily due to lag, owing to worse and worse netcode).
I think Black Ops 2 deserves this nomination for best technology. It's a technical feat of programming to simulate an online game that lags 300ms at all times.
This is like telling women to stay out of the abortion debate because they're too close to the situation to be objective.
I learned my lesson to never buy another Call of Duty again before I at least rented it to verify it isn't total trash.
But if Battlefield 4 gets announced for next-gen consoles, I am on it like flies on Black Ops 2.
I have a feeling that the Assault Rifles would be much more effective if the SMG rushing players didn't have a 1-2 second reaction time advantage due to the ill-conceived lag compensation problems that make the game incredibly random and unenjoyable for many people. How do you kill someone if you don't even have time to react?

The guns can be as balanced and fair as humanly possible. None of it matters if lag compensation completely facks up any semblance of an enjoyable competitive online shooter.

I laugh when they think I'm actually going to give them more money to play a broken, near-unplayable game that I probably will never play anymore. Oh Treyarch... silly you.
Maybe people hate the game because it kills off and replaces the spirit of what made them love the previous games in the series?

If Battlefield 4 can finally target 60 fps on console--like its rival COD--then color me excited.
The fact that COD targets 60 fps is one of the few advantages it has left over Battlefield and other competing shooters. In my eyes, it's critical that all competitive online multiplayer games start targeting 60 fps--this would allow for much more fluid and responsive gameplay.
@Bordel_1900: Yeah, I have to agree with you on the point of low framerates on current-gen consoles. These old systems are really starting to creak under the weight of recently released games. Far Cry 3 and Crysis 2, for example, have framerate dips down into the 15 fps or less range.
Such poor performance really kinda ruins the experience for me, and was the main impetus for me to finally upgrade my PC.

Hard drive speed would be the bigger culprit for slow boot-up speed and loading times. I would look into that, rather than blaming it on a supposedly "slower Cell."
Also, the writer claims he read somewhere that IBM claims Slim Cell processors are faster than the fat Cell processors. Where is the source for this info? As far as I know, all Cell processors in all versions of the PS3 run at the same clock speed (3.2GHz per core and SPU).

Almost all the big PC games are also on console... COD, Half-Life, DOOM, Battlefield, Far Cry, Crysis, Elder Scrolls, Counter-Strike etc. The only major, blockbuster exceptions StarCraft, WoW, and a few other big games.
