This is where they are confused though, their reason for not having dedicated on board chat is because they want it to be mobile, the reason they don't have street-pass is because it's primarily a home console.. which to me implies it's in the dock.

They don't include any form of charging for the controller unless it's docked (again, encouraging mobile play), and the Pro controller is an astonishing £65 to buy separate, or £28 for the charging...

We complain when developers bleed IPs dry, we complain when they don't!

The bigger selling point (for me anyway) is HDR. I'd potentially go for higher frame rate, HDR enabled 1080p viewing over 4k! I do use a monitor though!

"We want to reinforce the capability to take your experience with you on the go. The ability to do matchmaking, voice chat through your phone, it’s a hell of a lot more convenient than having a gamer headset stuck into your backpack trying to do that. That’s why we’re doing it the way we are. We see the convenience, we see the ease of delivery. We think it’s going to lead to a better experience."

I get that, and to assume everyone that is buying the Switch has a s...

So how come the Wii and the Wii U released after the 360/PS3 and yet both were lower in specifications (the Wii U was actually close I guess, but a year before we had the Xbox One and PS4)? Now the Switch is releasing after the One/PS4 and it is also lower in specs.

The Wii was understandable, it was definitely more of an innovative idea and at the time it's obvious flaws weren't as noticable. The Wii U was just a mistake, the timing was terrible. If it came out may...

Damn, a lot of hate for Microsoft era Rare. Both vivas and Nuts and Bolts got pretty good reviews (around 80 average) I didn't realise they were so hated! Forgive my ignorance there. I really enjoyed those games but as Utalkin2me said I must be in the minority.

Rare? They are releasing Sea of Thieves this year and some of their past Xbox games have been awesome. Microsoft certainly haven't destroyed them. Lionhead, unfortunately Lionhead was going downhill after Fable 3 when Peter Molyneux left. Fable Legends was a shame, but it was shaping up to be a less than average game and was probably eating up a lot of resources and time, Microsoft ended that but they didn't destroy it.

Bungie is probably the most accurate on that l...

@Shin - I would expect FF7R to be a very pretty but shallow version of it's former self, then, if it turns out to be amazing remaster you'll be very surprised! But don't except anything from it at this stage.

Remote play is such a wasted feature on the Vita, I'm sure if they re-branded the vita as a remote play device, added 5GHz wireless support and added a second shoulder button it would shift. I do love my Vita but having the front/back touch pad simulating the shoulder buttons in certain games can make it quite tricky to use.

£150 for a wired controller that doesn't provide 100% of the features of the Official version? That's quite steep!

This is the most accurate response I have read.

For people comparing these stats to PC, you do realise that the Xbox One and PS4 (@1.3 and 1.8 respectively) can nearly, not quite, deliver the same performance as my 4tf GTX 970. Consoles DO NOT work in exactly the same way as a PC and their power can be utilised differently.

I agree, it's unlikely we will see games running @Ultra/60FPS/4K but I think people will be surprised by the performance of it. I think we will more likely see 1080 figures than 1070 (which I agre...

The problem will arise when we have both the PS4 Pro and Scorpio out, we will likely start to see PS4/Xbox One games struggle and if the Switch is not even quite up to par with those it's only going to struggle more.

Developers will then have to design games to cover a pretty wide performance gap and over time I feel they will probably neglect the Switch. But hopefully they have pulled some magic and if it matches the performance of the Xbox One at least then it shouldn...

@Utalkin2me - It's an expensive controller, granted the looks don't effect the performance but they're still an intrinsic part of the design if they actually want it to sell. When you're paying a premium price you expect all bases to be covered.

The features sound great but I am not keep on the look at all, it loses the Playstation identity. Part of the beauty of the Xbox One Elite controller is that it still retains the original design, just re-worked.

I understand this is a third party rather than first but it would have been nice if they tried to keep it slightly more in check, it's a bit ugly!
