High Dynamic Range isn't just a made up none existent saying that Microsoft have fabricated, just like DirectX 12 (granted that will effect PC users more than the Xbox one)
You will absolutely be able to tell the difference between a game outputting in standard ranges and HDR. Just look at some photos in HDR and standard and you'll see the difference, the contrast, colours etc will be much crisper. It can actually make things look surreal so it might not be every on...
Well it's a console designed for 4K resolution, he shouldn't even have explain that! You'd still definitely notice a difference on a 1080p screen but it wouldn't be a logical investment, neither would the Neo.
There we go, exactly! The Neo at it's rumoured 4.5tf will be very outdated at launch. Consoles do seem to do more with their power than PCs though, presumably because they have less running in the background etc etc. I'd expect performance between the 1070 and the 1080 from the Scorpio.
I really don't understand why the Scorpio is coming under such heavy fire... If you don't have a 4K TV you'll still see much higher textures and frame rates but granted it wont be cheap, however it's a true 4K console and in a years time you'll have more households with 4K screens. I plan to pick up a supported monitor as they'll be much cheaper than a full TV.
If the PS Neo comes out later this year it's going to be an even smaller step up than ...
The PS4/Xbox One are outdated now, the PS Neo (going by rumoured specs) will probably already be outdated when it launches.. the Xbox Scorpio will probably be outdated in sooner than two years...
Computer hardware advances year on year, this article is pointless and it's just deigned to shed bad light on the Scorpio.
Sony's was very confident indeed, some great games shown. Small shame about mostly 2017 releases but on the other hand Microsoft's show had a splurge of 2016 games to see me through until then!
On the Neo/Scorpio front, I did expect Sony to show something, especially since their VR drops so soon and would definitely benefit from a more powerful machine but who knows, they may just slyly announce something soon.
From a single player front PS4 storm...
Yet every argument I ever read on the PS4/XB1 launch was the extra power the PS4 had...
That said, I do agree with your statement - it's just not what the general public believe!
So you're surprised the new Remastered version has higher resolution textures than a texture pack that was released for free back in 2011?
We will probably see some footage towards the end of the year (likely TGS, mentioned below) but I am also a bit sceptical about the development window for this game. It sounds like it was more or less just a concept when it was announced last year (we have only really seen that lakeside area). For most solid titles you're looking at (at least) a 3 year development window, so I think we will likely see a 2017/2018 release - but believe me, I hope I am wrong!
Best way, showing more of what was announced last year! Last years was bitter sweet, Shenmue 3 - kick starter. FF7 - multi-part/episodic.
Show us some proper gameplay footage of both, if that looks good I don't even need Sony to sell me anything else!
Some remasters I love and can see the value of (TLoU for example) others just seem a little pointless, for the developer it's easy money but it can sometimes end up tainting a brilliant game. DR I am actually quite excited about, the games have never been masterpieces but I have always really enjoyed them and with added Co-op it can only get more fun.
Skyrim I am a little confused about, I assume it'll be running on the same engine and with current PC mods already b...
Yeah to be honest Jay Wilson wasn't great for Diablo! Still though, I am sure he did very valued work at Blizzard - no need for any hate!
Wait, is Overwatch an MMO? I don't get this title! Pretty sure when I played the beta it was the complete opposite!
Damnit Rare, make me Viva Piñata 3!!
Nope, that's it, gone, poof, we shall not hear from Sony ever again.
I was really hoping for a Morrowind remaster, but I'll happily settle for Skyrim!
I don't think it's too harsh, it's fairly simple, don't cheat... You can't accidentally download third party software intended to give you an unfair advantage over other players.
HA! This article made me smile, I hope it's satire?....
Okay, the very original Tomb Raider almost definitely inspired Naughty Dog to create Uncharted. As you said though, there have also been films and many other contributing factors. However what Naughty Dog did with that inspiration was incredible, they breathed life into the action adventure game genre, which tbh had become a little dull in the years leading up to Uncharted. It is definitely not a fraud, its very ha...
I am not paying £60+ for a remaster of MW, despite how good the game was! Look at Infinity Wards history, MW1+2 - absolutely fantastic. Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired pre-MW3, MW3 came out still carrying some of the weight of the previous ones (probably did have some influence from those two) but it didn't hit the spot as well as the previous games. Their next game Ghosts was a complete shambles, granted it was a fresh game to next gen but it was still terrible compared to ...
@andresegr - So you've gone from it being a PR stunt to a cool thing to have? That's quite a change of opinion!
Microsoft were never really pushing it as a huge monumental change, they were just saying that the Xbox One S HAS it, it's a cool feature and it will make some games look really nice, I imagine games like Sea of Thieves will look glorious with HDR.
