Also, little tip to get a code.
Step 1 - Pre-order on Amazon
Step 2 - Wait for Beta code (2 minutes)
Step 3 - Profit (also cancel pre-order)
It's pretty crucial really, it will give them some idea of the strain it's going to be under on launch.
An online game like this could really do with more than 3 days. I wouldn't say the alpha was that stable and the numbers playing that weren't that high!
It could do with 4 days closed and then opening it up on the 5th to really stress test, it would at least give them some idea of the numbers!
Fair point! They would still be using their money though which is a resource! I'm sure they have enough of it though....
A big no! Keep all resources for the next GTA and hopefully some solid GTA5 single player DLC.
Has anyone received a beta code yet? I was on Alpha but I don't think that guarantees me a beta code.
The last of Us is probably one of the best examples of a perfect game in it's genre....
I genuinely couldn't fault it even if I tried!
You might not enjoy the genre, but if you can't appreciate how superb the game is than you really shouldn't be in game journalism!

How do these articles still get so much heat!!
If you have a Playstation 4 - enjoy it, stop ranting!
If you have an Xbox One - enjoy, stop ranting!
If you have both - enjoy them, stop ranting!
Playstation 4 is doing great, we all know that. Xbox One is also doing great, not as great as Playstation 4, but still great - and that's okay.
And now I'm ranting, ugh!
Right in the feels!
Wasn't that announced shortly before launch too? I'm sure initially it was just Xbox One exclusive with no real mention of it going multi-plat?
There was a lot around the announcement mate and a lot of people seem to be pleased with the bad outcome, personally I think it's damaged two companies that I really like and it's a shame!
No hate from me, I own and love both consoles!
This whole deal they had just didn't really play out, they announced it was a timed exclusive (I know, people all assumed anyway, but..) before the game even came out, so instantly if there were people on the edge with PS4s getting close to picking up an Xbox One for this game that news would just put them firmly back with their PS4s.
Then 2 months later they announce the PC version coming in January.. it wont be long until it is out on the PS4 now for sure.
True fans, as you described pretty much. The people who have devoted hundreds of hours to the game over the last (nearly) 20 years!
This game has been asked for and asked for since the tech demo on the PS3. This game really should be for the fans or it would be an absolute disgrace considering they've said countless times they wouldn't be able to remake it and then surprise us like that.
The reason why I personally don't want them to go down a rea...
I presume you mean people who've played the title, enjoyed it but have reservations and changes they would personally like to see? their opinions are totally relevant, I wouldn't want genuine opinions ignored!
Rather than focusing on "true fans" which probably was a bad term, I rather meant they should be careful when checking fan feedback. A lot of people may have never played Final Fantasy 7 and just want a great gorgeous hack and slash adventure/RPG, with...
Great article, just reading it made me reminisce back to when I first played the game.
I do worry for the game, I just hope they actually listen to the true fans and not the general public views (I don't mean this in a derogative manner) but the fans want FF7 for what it was, the general public - who may not have played FF7 - just want a great new game but if Square Enix follow their chorus the game will end up pleasing no-one!
They should look at a new theme entirely I think, a Gangser setting like Mafia perhaps, or a game themed in the Old West? I don't know exactly I just think they need to move away from the very very stale trend!
They have had £80-£150 out of most of their dedicated fans by this point so why can't they do both, other developers do!
Meh, it'll still be fantastic!
A server stress test?
Game betas aren't in place for our enjoyment, that's just an advantage to them!
