The CSR wheel is $250, add the shifter set for $60 and the CSR elite pedals for $150, that's $460; with shipping you're looking at $500.
What sets Call of Duty apart from all other fps, multiplayer offerings is its depth. The anti-Call of Duty elitist can bemoan my comment all they want but it's fact. Call of Duty truly gives players, the tools to play the game the way they want to play. The total number of primary weapons, attachments, secondaries, perks, pro perks, killstreaks; you find the combination that works for your play style. Then factor in the number of gametypes and maps available at launch and you have a huge ...
It's the same engine using the same improvements made by Epic games to UE3 and with more diverse environments in Batman Arkham City, it definitely looks impressive.
I was one of those who didn't think there was a huge graphical leap between 3 and 4 but to see them side by side, you see how that engine has evolved. So much more detail in Forza 4. It truly looks amazing.
Great preview. Truly gives an idea of the scale of battle we expected from Battlefield 3.
Fact is, Forza has had a greater critical reception than every Gran Turismo game released since 2005 when Forza debut. Worst yet, when compared to PC racing simulators like iRacing, RFactor and ARCA racing, you see just how far Gran Turismo has to go to be considered a true sim. Forza finds a great balance. Gran Turismo is a better simulator, granted, but that's not what Forza aims to be. It aims to encourage car culture, celebrate a love of cars and community and overall, be a great gami...
And they've sold out. So has Gamestop.
Ah . . . I'm grateful for it. With the additions of Hulu and Netflix, I got rid of cable. I only watched a handful of channels and between the two I can easily find something worth watching for $16 a month. I'm grateful for even more options.
Why all these developers want to be the "Biggest shooter on the market"? It's a genre so generic and cliched and tired. Get over it already.
Surprisingly, Activision has been restrained with how much they've shown of Modern Warfare 3. I'm actually hyped for the game.
What's funny is that this game looks and gives that feeling of Silent Assassin, which makes you realise how many games this generation have borrowed from the Hitman franchise. Impressive.
Am I missing something here are are most in the gaming media dunces? There seems to be this perception that the gaming public is unfamiliar with the Battlefield franchise, they aren't. They've been 2 Battlefield Bad Company games this gen which have had some critical success and reasonably strong sales, while never becoming a true competitor to Call of Duty. The argument seems to be that Battlefield 3 is a true sequel to Battlefield 2 but to the mass gaming public, that isn't rele...
Basically. They were making an FPS and he wanted to make Metal Gear Halo.
Rage spent years in development, with its engine development taking even longer. Criticize Call of Duty all you want but there are far more games that look worse than there are games that look and run better. In Call of Duty you have a rock solid engine which has evolved over iterations.
@ Hockeydud19
A lot of us do, troll! That's why the franchise is a resounding success, with industry leading sales and the largest, sustained online communities across al...
Agree wholeheartedly. I have never been able to purchase the cars included in the Stig's Car Carpack which you can only get by purchasing the ultimate edition. That is just ridiculous.
Social gaming has driven this generation of gaming more than the software itself. Exclusives simply don't move the needle. Halo, Gears of War and Forza, what sets them apart from their competitors is social connectivity. Maintaining the communities for these games and monetizing peoples' enjoyment of these games has been a more successful strategy. Finally, the glut of multiplatform software, means that separating your platform from your competitor is more about feature set than softw...
Just waiting for some anti-Call of Duty fanboy to run in here claiming only sheep and non-gamers play and enjoy Call of Duty.
10 . . . 9 . . . 8 . . . 7 . . .
Like I said in another article about the game's campaign. It's more Call of Duty lite than what it was hyped to be. DICE and EA hyped the campaign with the Fault line trailer to be steeped in reality with real world tension. The fact is, it's generic FPS fair, just as over the top as Call of Duty but without the tongue-in-cheek charm and that's simply because you go into it expecting a more serious, down to earth tone.
Many of the recent campaign previews have been less than stellar. It seems what many expected was a campaign more steeped in realism and real world tension but what it is is more Call of Duty lite. Not as over the top and outlandish to be tongue in cheek but straddling the line of realism and fantasy too much to be taken seriously or enjoyed.
I'm waiting for the guys over at Inside Sim Racing's review. They have really thorough reviews and they're the guys who play these types of games everyday.
