I hope not. After sitting through 2 and a half hours of Transformers Dark of the Moon, I almost slit my wrists! Just awful!
Man, that shit got me excited, no joke. They do know how to make trailers over there at Activision.
God that was exciting. Call of Duty doesn't hollywood, over the top action better than anyone else. Even if the story is rubbish, you'll be on the edge of your seat blasting your way through it for 6 hours.
But the Fault line trailer was the same generic setpieces as every other FPS; take out that sniper, man that turret. Who's surprised?! When I said it then, I got a million disagrees but it's the truth. The gaming media wanted this game to be more than it it is and the fact is, it's not what it was hyped to be.
The last GT game that was actually good came out in 2001. How long are fanboys going to hang on to the pipe dream that GT is better than Forza because since 2005 when Forza debuted it hasn't been? FACT.
Honestly, I'll take auto-vista, car clubs and other social aspects like painting, tuning and auctions over dynamic weather and day/night cycles. I'd rather focus on and enjoy the features Forza has rather than those it lacks. Because the last time the competition was actually better than Forza was 2001, 10 years ago. So obviously, they're doing something right.
We can go back to the build being months old but the biggest problem with the console beta of Battlefield 3 is that, it didn't play like a sequel to Battlefield 2. It played like Battlefield Bad Company 2.5. That's the main complaint of this article and that's the biggest complaint I've heard. The media, DICE and EA hyped the crap out of the game before anyone got the chance to play the console versions and the truth is, you don't get the same experience on consoles you wi...
I was one of those who thought the sawed-off shotgun was over powered but God it's useless. I love watching some idiot charging at me and it takes only a timed roll and off he goes scampering trying to reload. What needs to be addressed is the hit detection for rolling or charging enemies. It doesn't seem like bullets connect when players are charging or rolling.
Name a true sim that's available on consoles? Go ahead, I'll wait. And before the Gran Turismo fanboys run in here with their GT pom poms, Gran Turismo isn't a true sim. Hurts, I know, but it isn't.
I saw some gameplay vids of a desert level over at Gametrailers, all I can say is, holyshitgoodGodalmighty. I almost licked my screen. UC3 sets a new bar for console games. Period!
Makes more sense to who? If core, dedicated gamers were the only ones who bought games, there wouldn't be a gaming industry. You think you're more of a core, dedicated gamer because Call of Duty isn't your most anticipated game this holiday season?
Since its debut Forza has supplanted the GT franchise. The lack of success of the original XBox didn't detract from the fact that Forza was better received critically that Gran Turismo 4. FACT! How long can fanboys pretend Gran Turismo is even Forza's equal much less better? Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec came out in 2001; 10 freaking years ago. Since then, the franchise has stagnated, gone downhill and been supplanted by Forza which has consistently been better. Gran Turismo fanboys need a G...
Hasn't there been enough of these articles though?
Anymore? When was he ever funny? He's always been a loud douche. The fact remains, Call of Duty is a pop culture phenomenon. It's popular and it's accessible.
Is it me or has Sony been giving Insomniac games the cold shoulder? Resistance 3 was released with little fanfare and advertising even though it was a great game and received great reviews and I'm seeing little or no attention paid to All 4 One.
Ah . . . it's October 5th. The game went gold at least a couple weeks ago. Has to have.
It's a public beta. A public beta, with problems that should have been identified and addressed in the alpha and closed beta. Releasing an old build without the improvements made in the early testing of the game to stress test servers is asinine. What idiot thought that was a good idea? The intention should always be to put the best representation of your product out to the public. Beta or not, this was botched badly.
I think it's because Forza embraces car culture and car passion more than other racing games or simulators. They've built their success around their community more than the game's driving physics or overall driving experience. To share cars, car designs and the overall social connectivity that Forza 4 is embracing really sets it apart from the rest of the genre.
Before Epic Games released a beta for Gears of War 3, Rod Ferguson hit the nail on the head when he said, gamers have the highest expectations of a beta and betas are as much about marketing as they are about stress testing and bug fixing which is why developers are always hesitant to release a beta to the public. DICE were foolish to release a beta of a build months old, if in fact the build was months old. They should have known just what Ferguson did.
LOL. Are you serious?! 2 freaking hours?!! Is Gears of War 3 even as long as that review?!
