Someone explain to me where this rivalry came from? As far as i can tell, we have 2 sequels here. On the one hand we have a sequel to a game that was a mediocre FPS at best...there was absolutely no innovation, not amazing graphics, just an okay shooter that launched with the PS3. On the other hand there's a sequel to a Third Person Shooter that has set records, has stolen fans from FPS (which is the dominant genre), and has more people playing it each week, even now, than ppl have played ...
NG2 isn't out yet...and it wasn't overly hyped. so that doesn't make ANY sense.
and halo 3 was disappointing only in that it set so many records. it is still in the top 3 most played games on xbox live every week. So it can't be that big of a let down. People will be playing Halo 3 til the next generation.
Oh, and in terms of story...Halo 3 was good, and the 4 player co-op was a lot of fun. halo 2 was a much bigger let down.

You nailed it man. and the saddest part in all this...i've noticed that the 360 owners don't really hold anything personal against PS3. I want the PS3 to do well too...i hope that we have healthy competition so that we see the best of what is to offer. We all know microsoft is notorious for withholding technology to maximize profits...and so is sony. But, because they have to compete, they push eachother farther...if it were up to nintendo, we'd still be playing last gen games even n...
No...this game actually requires skill. Gotta be on your toes, actually KNOW how to play the character perfect by the end.
god of war, heavenly sword, etc... are not bad games. but lets face it, they are button mashers. I got through the last 2 lvls of God of war just button mashing having never played the game before. and heavenly sword, you just gotta make sure you are in the right stance.

it's because every game that comes out this generation runs on the Unreal Engine 3. that engine just doesn't seem to do much for bright colors.
it's not the lack of color that's giving him this feeling. it's the lack of vibrant color. and that's acceptable in a few games, but when every game looks the same...that's when it gets old.
oh, and GTA doesn't fall into this category. it has plenty of color, but it has many ranges of weather effects, and since it's a cit...

MS messed up? you mean microsoft? you mean the only company that actually did put a HardDrive in last generation?
apple charges as much for their cell phones as sony charges for ps3, so if they did make a console, you'd probably need to rob a bank just to buy one.

it's definitely the engine. and mass effect, stranglehold and bioshock have bland colors as well. They do have color...it's just lackluster.
the UE3 has a very specific look. you can tell right away when a game runs on it.
those high-res scans sure are stunning.
