about metal gear solid's gameplay. the story and presentation are what make people think that game is so good. i love it, but definitely not for the gameplay. it doesn't deserve game of the year because it's hardly a game. the times when you do actually play are just an excuse to get to the next cut scene. and the boss fights are slow and boring.

it has 500 different colors of ink, it writes upside down, it beeps when you lose it, it does my homework for me and sometimes even goes to class when i'm hungover and takes notes, it cures many types of cancer, it can play the guitar, drums, and violin, and write entire symphonies.

the 360 had more launch titles that were fun to play than ps3 has total. i should know. i just bought a ps3 last week. i've already beat MGS4 and uncharted. the only games left that are worth ANYTHING are heavenly sword (which is a 5 hour game), and maybe resistance.
i already regret my purchase cuz i realized i will have no games to play within one week of owning this system.

everyone seems to be missing the point. this was a product of research. they weren't trying to make something to sell. they were trying to progress technology. if the same principle were applied to new sources, then we might see blu rays holding 9x50 gigs. that's pretty cool to think about.
who cares if the product isn't sellable. not everything is about money. and even if it is... big companies would see the promise in the research and invest in making new products.

my roomate and i played halo 1 every night on legendary. it was such a great game co-op. it is the reason single play FPS games are so common now. it made them okay on consoles.
i wish they'd re-release it next generation with new graphics and 4 player online co-op.

that the reason they bagged Starcraft Ghost is because they wanted to make that one of the classes for a Starcraft MMO.
But...even if this article is right, i don't think they'd want people to know about a new MMO officially til after the new WoW expansion comes out. they will want to milk this current MMO for everything they can before telling everyone they are done supporting it.
i hate to sound like a jerk, but i expect a lot more from this generation. that game doesn't look any better than Resident Evil on gamecube. i'm sure the physics and lighting are better. but the gameplay looks bland, it doesn't look tense or scary. i think i'll just wait for Resident Evil 5.
