I gotta hand it to Yoshida; he's actually replying to questions. Even if they don't provide any concrete information, it's still pretty admirable that he's communicating to real consumers. Not every company president would do that.
Still, that HDCP update can't come soon enough. It'd be awesome to record gameplay on PS4.
Exactly, which makes this 36-month deadline all the more important. Nintendo will need to demonstrate how much value they believe the trademark has at this point. If they don't, it's lost.
Renewing a trademark just to keep it in your possession is one thing. Showing that something can come of said renewal is the next big step. Here's hoping something does come of it.
I think it's hard to say what Nintendo will do with Eternal Darkness after this. The fact that they continued to renew the trademark for so long means that it must mean something to them; it's a series that can be very useful to Nintendo. It's a release that's radically unique from anything else in their library. It's distinctive. It's different.
I hope a game comes out of this: an HD remaster, VC Gamecube port, or in the best chance, a full-on sequel....
While those two games are indeed terrible, Big Rigs is on a whole 'nother level of bad. There are many videos of the game on Youtube, so see for yourself when you can. Nothing can prepare you for it, though.
This article is pessimistic in the worst kind of way, offering no real solution to the problem it repeatedly highlights. We all want a fresh IP from Nintendo; I don't think anyone would be against that. But the article says that nothing, not even a new IP can keep the Wii U afloat, going so far to say that it'll be dead within the next year, which considering the 2014 Wii U lineup, is very hard to believe.
Like the other commenters said, a new IP would do something ...
I swear, so many of these records are insanely specific. "Longest Marathon on a Dance Game" is a stretch, Guinness World Records.
Why ignore all of the good things that the gaming community has provided since Day 1? The guy is simply jumping ship instead of doing anything productive to fix the problems he's talking about. These issues that the author cites as "gamer-related" aren't really related to the gaming community. It's more general immaturity, not anything connected to the gaming crowd directly.
The writer seems just as prejudiced as the "gamers" he's condemnin...
This article constantly emits the vibe of "I don't get why this game is so good." It's a common complaint from a lot of people and for a lot of games, but the author doesn't propose any kind of solution to their "problem." Half-Life 2 is on a lot of best-of lists because many people think it IS "the best." That's how those lists work.
That being said, it's not mandatory to like it. If you don't like Half-Life 2, that's...
I can never figure out what this guy likes and what he hates. He seems to change his tune a lot.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he showed up, unlockable or not. Tropical Freeze is putting him back on the radar, so a Smash appearance is all the more likely.
I'm seeing a recurring trend from Adam, that he just hates the Wii U Gamepad. He brought that up during his E3 impressions of Bayonetta 2 as well, barely talking about the game itself and only talking about how he didn't like the Gamepad design.
Also, why in the world would Nintendo scrap the Wii U controller when it's the system's most recognizable and distinctive feature compared to its competitors, the thing that gets consumers' attention in the first p...
So it's a "good move" because you personally want PS4 to sell the best?
"Xbox One's That Leak Oil? Microsoft's Never Seen That Before"
I don't blame Microsoft. This "case" reeks of falsity.
But it's not an Xbox One exclusive. You can also play the game on Xbox 360 or PC.
If VGChartz is right on this, then the Wii U is selling well and Nintendo is doing something right.
Microsoft's logic in making the Kinect a requirement so more developers would use its functionalities (not worrying about who has one, since every Xbox One user has one) makes sense.
However, the value of Kinect doesn't come from how many people have one, but how well it's used in games. Kinect will be hated if the games that use it continue the trend of Fighter Within. If you're paying $100 for a peripheral that rarely works at all, it's going to hurt sal...
But are you judging the artistic value of a game solely by its graphic or aesthetic design? If so, then no retro game can be called art at all. Also, that's judging a game's artistic value based on another medium's standards. Under that logic, music should be judged by visual art logic and cannot be art at all.
That's not how art is judged. If it was, David Cage games would all be the highest art, regardless of whether or not they support the fundamentals of b...
How widespread is this issue, and has it been confirmed that it's the Kinect recognition that's causing it?
I don't think the server problems are directly correlated to Iwata like the article implied. Just because you manage the entire company doesn't mean that every single issue can be traced back to you and only you.
Wonder what Gabe Newell has to say about this...
