Sorry, but third party devs were not the reason the DS and 3DS were successful. Not even close.
Well...uh...he did say it...

The Best Friends guys are great, especially Pat. They did a quick look at AVGN Adventures and both Matt and Pat gushed over AVGN. You can clearly see Rolfe's influence in their works, but they're very funny guys.
I completely agree with you on all of that. I'm just saying that determining who "won" the console wars at this point in time is just ridiculous.
I'm assuming it'll be a separate subscription service, but I'm hoping that PS+ subscribers will get some kind of discount at the very least.
However, since PS+ is almost required at this point and so many people have it, that hope is steadily fading.
It seems that the Bravia TV streaming has some issues, but that's not necessarily indicative of Vita or PS4 streaming.
It's way too early to tell. WAY too early. People thought the 360 would murder the PS3 when it launched, then Sony shaped up and everyone loves the PS3. And the Wii? I don't think anyone could predict how successful it would be and it was the lead runner throughout its generation.
The point is that we cannot tell now. Seriously, the generation just started...
PS+ is required now more than ever with PS4, but really, you get so much with the subscription that I really can't complain.

Seriously, though, the Vita has every right to do well, or at least better than the PSP. I personally like the 3DS more, but the Vita has a LOT going for it in terms of hardware and network features.
This article is just begging for hits and it's pretty pathetic. That's the reason its headline is like that.
There goes Tokyo...
Sega went 3rd party after four failed consoles (Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, Neptune, and five if you count the Pluto prototype) before the Dreamcast even dropped. They had a long string of commercial bombs. Nintendo just got a ton of money from the Wii last gen and the 3DS keeps selling well (even after its mediocre launch).
Sega and Nintendo's situations are simply not the same.
This info dropped today. Dual Pixels have had a pretty good record with reporting on things early and having them happen. Grain of salt, however.

You mean the Xbox brand is stronger in the US. Japan hates the Xbox: we have TONS of data on that too. You're not following the big picture.
Sony is likely to lead since they have a strong market presence in all three major markets; that's expected. Nintendo has presence in Japan and a bit in the US and Europe. Xbox is completely Western. Completely. Japan is so secondary to them that the Xbox One is getting continuous delays there.
Even if the Xbox O...
Geez, that's a lot of info to ponder. If even half of that info is true, there's going to be a lot to love.
I'm with the majority in saying that this kind of Pokemon game on Wii U could do a lot.
If we're continuing to say that, even after all this time, then that means that those weren't the Wii U's "last chances" and Nintendo is doing better than the doom articles seem to imply.
Better yet, get Monolith Soft to make that Pokemon MMORPG.
Creating such a large advantage gap between those who pay and those who don't is the big issue. The guys who made Forza 5 called this phenomenon "acceleration" and Forza has always been a pretty competitive series.
"The Wii U console from Nintendo threatens to be one of the company's greatest all-time failures."
The Virtual Boy was a failure. The Wii U is not the Virtual Boy.
These are terrible predictions, but not in the way the article author intended.
That makes much more sense than the typical "pull a Sega" pitch.
