VR's success depends entirely on whether the dev support justifies the price. If the headset is $200, but we only get a handful of good games, it's not gonna catch on. It'll be like Kinect all over again.
You sound like the guy in the front row of that Robot Chicken sketch Nintendo aired.
It was surprisingly good, but not the best.
Lots of variety there. AAA stuff, indie stuff, multi-platform stuff...lots to love.
That's not the business side. Saying how much your camera sold is not what people came to see. It has nothing to do with me either. Can you honestly say you enjoyed hearing Tretton's replacement talk for that big chunk of time? Did you hear the complete silence from the audience when free-to-play games were mentioned? There was no obligation for Sony to talk about that. They could've done something else instead of break the momentum and keep people waiting for anything new or inte...
So we'll have three consoles in the race, and lots of choice and competition from all three of them in terms of exclusives and distinct experiences? I'm perfectly okay with that. Variety is the spice of life.
I don't blame him. That game looks insanely good.
Multi-platform releases do not sell consoles. You do not buy one system over another to play a game that's available on both. Exclusives sell systems and the Vita critically needs more of them.
Did it ever occur that Tearaway might not have sold well because the Vita install base was super small before the game released, still putting a majority of the blame on Sony?
I loved Tearaway. It was an amazing, original game that had so much charm and imagination, but also used the Vita hardware integrally. I bought that game quick, but even if the Vita userbase all did it, that still doesn't solve the issue that there aren't many people with Vitas in their hands.
I'd take proper triggers and R3/L3 buttons over the terrible rear touch pad any day.
Gravity Rush 2 for 2015? Neato. :)
I'm not saying that Sony didn't have much to show. They clearly did, especially Bloodborne, Let It Die, and Uncharted 4.
However, the almost non-existent Vita coverage and that big, noticeable lull of corporate rhetoric from Tretton's replacement was not something worth ignoring. Also, a lot of the stuff shown by Sony was leaked beforehand and wasn't a surprise at all. Uncharted 4 was not a surprise.
I don't know about you, but I don't...
Nintendo was just faster. There were barely any breaks in momentum during the digital event. No sales numbers. No stats in player count or service population. Just games. And even after the event ended, Nintendo steadily introduced fresh news as the days went on about new or upcoming projects. It felt constant and you never knew what would be announced or demoed next from them.
I never felt like I was waiting for Nintendo to do something cool at E3 this year. They just...did ...
October can't come soon enough.
Sony talked more about non-games at E3 than Microsoft did. I really don't care about Powers and I wished they had given more time to indies instead of the TV stuff.
It's not even a preview. It's a teaser trailer. This is a review of a teaser.
Don't apologize, Yoshida. You don't have to and, as the gaming community has said many times before, apologizing makes you look weak. They're delays and they happen all the time. Just keep working hard on those awesome games for 2015.
Streaming can be awesome, but it depends entirely on who is streaming it. I've seen a number of people on Twitch literally play a game of Minecraft with a facecam feed of their stoic, emotionless expression, all with nothing interesting happening on screen.
While I have an Elgato that can stream Wii U footage any time I want to, I'd also be curious how Twitch streaming would work on Wii U with the Gamepad. That's two screens worth of content to broadcast.
...
I prefer to play my Nintendo games with buttons. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that.
The man? How do you think the cat feels? Bet he's thinkin' "the second I get this suit off, everyone will suffer."
