Good read overall. I give some credit where it's due, especially with the well thought out questions in regards to his legacy and other community focused points.
But like the title says "Phil Spencer Talks Scorpio"...that's really all they can do for another year. And by then a lot of things in the gaming community will have happened (new exclusives, new hardware, new features).
I 100% agree with you. I feel as though this range of console power was what everyone was hoping for with the start of this past gen. That way games could easily run smoothly without so many sacrifices to quality.
I myself am looking forward to the enhancements with fallout 4 on the PS4 Pro.
This would make sense in real world scenarios. I think however that there are a number of components in the end that really determine if a game is going to be or can be 4K.
All I know is that I'm happy to be only a short while away from enjoying the 4K experience on the Pro!
Man what's with all the spam these days?
"can't believe sony is still leaning into the power angle with scorpio coming"
Scorpio is coming in a year if MS keeps their word. To my knowledge...we all currently live in the present. And presently there is no Scorpio lol just the PS4 Pro. That's plenty of reason to "lean into the power angle" that they've had since the PS3. The games angle they've been leading since the start.
In VR, cheaper =/= better quality experiences. If you're ok with cheap VR just go with samsung or something.
First it was sub-HD gaming, now cheap low quality VR? Yup, best choice for those that don't care about quality.
@threefootwang
If you see the majority of his comments, they usually all read just like that.
It spells trouble because EA have hit it out of the ballpark with BF1. The scale and story just blend perfectly with each other.
Ever since last gen, COD has progressively gotten worse. And you can thank the dude bro community for that and for the oversaturation of horrid fps games.
You referenced Wikipedia? What are you, 10?
You seriously have no clue at what you're talking about and have cleared up all credibility with this post of yours. You're on the same path that Rookie was.
Lol
"What's the lie here exactly ?"
Lol ^^^ this is why MS announced it a year and a half early. So they could say whatever they want ("most powerful console ever made") and have people eat it all up and defend it without a second thought.
I literally don't need to even try.
Their new IPs are just about ignored by their fanbase. They bring out at max 4 AAA exclusives a year. They have third party support but no first party support.
Name me exclusives that aren't Halo, Gears or Forza that have released on the Xbox One and are on their level?
They hardly have support for their current console. Why should this be any different??
You can have the fastest car in the world, but if you have no gas (software) then it means nothing lol
Let's see if VR is a gimmick to all the Xbox fanboys come next year. (:
Technically they are walking a tightrope with these claims. They can say everything they want now. It's completely legal.
But it could be considered deception and false advertisement if they end up not delivering on these next year.
"That should be reflected in the sales...although your attempts at downplaying Forza is a bit too much."
If it's not Gears, Halo or Cod...then the Xbox fan base won't generally support it. This has been known for a long while after the "dude-bro" culture they bred last gen.
"The biggest change is that Microsoft is now seen as gamer friendly, while Sony is now driven by profit."
Gamer friendly?? Yes MS is definitely gamer friendly in making sure you get as little software support as possible two months out of the year.
And yes, 5% is big. No sugarcoating on that.
Requires a secondary expensive system?? There are literally 7 types of devices besides the PS Vita that provide remote play with the PS4. And to top it off, you don't need to be tied to the home network.
Your point of requireing an expensive secondary system isn't true at all.
PS4 Pro has VR exclusive to the console market and has been the leader in remote play since the start of this gen. Plenty of exciting things on that end.
I think the Pro and Switch go perfect hand in hand together for a great variety of gaming experiences!
I agree with Nintendo being the true pure console when it comes to being able to sell the most. My preference for Pro and Switch is because they're the top contenders in providing the most quality exclusives.
I definitely do. But I'd also say that I had major burnout last year with Fallout and GTAV to name a few. Excllent games that just didn't fit well with my not so excellent school/work schedule.
