I don't think they really have to do anything. They pulled the rug on everyone each step of the way last year and are geared to do so this year.
1. Xbox slim releases and is said to be smallest console between current model and PS4...Sony releases even smaller PS4 Slim console that is also VR ready.
2. MS introduce HDR gaming to its fanbase as an exclusive feature to ONLY its new consumers....Sony announces HDR as a simple update to its current 45 mil...
Making the fans like it or not is only half the work. Actually delivering on their lineup needs to happen as well.

If we were talking about a genre, we'd say genre. People use "niche" rather than genre because of the definition of the word.
Niche: "Denoting or relating to products, services, or interests that appeal to a SMALL, specialized section of the population."
So by its definition, this game is technically not niche since it's appeal is more than to a small specialized section of the gaming community.

This is a step in the right direction! Very different year than each year from launch onwards. Sounds like maybe an announcement at E3?
It seems to not be in comparison to its predecessor. What about the game does not cater to a wide audience? This isn't a Souls game (which to some degree has become mainstream for its play style). At that level you're just setting genres.
And by your logic, if Forza was that mainstream,(which it is) wouldn't it have sold more to its "wide audience"? Wouldn't gears have sold more to its "wide audience"?

Zelda pretty much takes the cake on all exclusives between the two. I don't think there's much room to argue against that.
One thing I've noticed is people complaining that the Switch's games run at 900p...yet their games run at that resolution too...but that's none of my business...

In quality and quantity (as of Thursday), I definitely agree with this statement.
Not defending this or anything. But having a smart tv now...I really have not used my consoles (PS4 Pro or Xbox One) for Netflix in a long time. I can see it getting phased out of consoles as smart TVs become standard.
And that's why they're in the position they're in and go through news like cancelling games. No way to spin it in a good way unfortunately.
I don't think he has a job in the industry (unless I'm wrong) but he knows people that have consistently been in the know.

He's talking about where he's gonna put more of his money to. Simple as that. MS underperforming is making him rethink how much investment he should put into his Xbox.
So here's what Scalebound's cancellation has done:
MS now have themselves in a corner where confidence and trust is at an all time low. At this point, should we truly believe them when they say that some of these games are part of the 2017 lineup? Had they not done that 3 years in a row with Scalebound, just to say at the end of each year that they needed more time?
Granted, two of these five have release dates. But the rest could easily see delay...
