Nope. It’s pretty one sided.
Never saw any Xbox fans defend SOT. And the PS fans who defended it learned to accept how bad it was. The industry as a whole (devs, journalists and gamers) learned that this was not ever going to be ok again.
Now it’s ok for Xbox fans to defend it? You’re basically confirming the blatant hypocrisy.

Unfortunately the transparency doesn’t make up for what their work lacks. The fact that people are still willing to wait for this empty game to improve, after Rare had 4 years to do so, is kind of ridiculous.
I thought we all learned from NMS, even those of us that defended it at the start. Clearly many didn’t and feel the need to give them a pass at criticism.

Does everyone remember the backlash MS got from Kinect regarding privacy? I remember people defending it saying "If you don't have anything to hide, then it should be fine".
I anticipate we'll be hearing the same from a lot of individuals. I also assume MS will be banning a lot of people, the online community in games like PUBG and other big-name shooters on Xbox can be ridiculously inappropriate.

It’s even more pathetic that the fanbase keeps supporting this and defending these practices. I don’t see next gen getting better for them, unfortunately. Way too many false promises and goal post moving, from MS, this gen.
I think he doesn’t accept criticism in general. The excuse of “it’s not for everyone” has been used over and over again by them this gen. Including when they’ve defended the Xbox One X in price and their sole marketing on it while leaving the fanbase at sub-HD standards.

Unfortunately the fanbase doesn’t support games like that. If it’s no a hardcore shooter, it probably won’t see the support from the fanbase at all.

It needs them but the fanbase doesn’t support them. MS dug themselves into a hole last gen where “dudebros”, little kids and casuals who only wanted to play COD, Halo and Gears.
They catered to only that portion of the fanbase from mid-way last gen to its end. No diverse first party investment, just milked shooters. It’s no surprise that PUBG and games like it are the only thing that do good sales wise on Xbox...and that’s because they play sub-par too.
