Just realized something...
This potentially sets in stone the scenario where the market share literally copies and pastes itself to next gen. What I mean by that is that people who bought and have their game library invested with digital games will stick with the console they bought this gen from here till the rest of time.
Like, if I knew I could still play with other consoles, why would I switch next gen when I have all these games I bought this gen?
No kidding. With the experiences Kojima has given us, I trust his vision in his own hands.
How is that?
All of the following are the theee core features shared between Netflix and PSNow at this point or have:
- Streaming (All games)
- Huge Library if Content (past and current)
- Downloadable Content
Some people think it is. Won’t take it away from them. Simply wonder how it can be when there’s no streaming involved?
“Yeah...that's really "literally" how it works.”
Yeah that’s “literally” why no one sees it as anything close to a Netflix model.
Netflix releases content they make, but 95% of their library are already released movies. So you’re only adding more to the point.
“...you’d think they’d allow you to use your old PS2 games then.”
Pretty sure that’s what’s next. Good thinking Krib!
@Gangsta_Red
“I have been told, no one buys a new system to play old games.”
No one disagrees that options aren’t good. PSNow has been around for a LONG time.
...
The true Netflix of gaming!
Streaming and Offline play.
This must have been what the PS4 update had set itself up for. It’s a really good move in the right direction.
Didn’t realize you not getting to play with sony players on your Xbox affected you that much.
Sounds like a personal problem if cross play is that much of an “industry debate” for you. It’s a want, not a need.
GAAS and “Always Online” are always going to be important and hot topics because they drastically and negatively affect our ability to play AT ALL. They NEED to be discussed and debated on. Cross platform play is just icing on top that only became i...
“...there has been tons of stories from different devs not associated with MS asking for cross console play.”
What a weak argument. “Tons of stories” doesn’t constitute anything. A “major industry debate” would mean that you’d see actual impact in the industry, like people leaving a company by the millions. Something like “always-online” gaming or GAAS are major industry debates.
“But Xbox has more cross console games than them, those are also just facts...
Definitely not a major industry complaint. MS is the only one bringing this up to try and make it seem like they’ve been the only ones pushing for it.
Actions speak louder than words. Everyone else has more cross-platform playing games than them. It’s just the facts.
Considering most of us play games on 1080p TVs anything above 1080p is a no brained.
No one should be playing games at 720p this gen on home console level products.
Good for you, man. But the other 95% of the fanbase plays on an S or Original Xbox One. And it still doesn’t run smoothly.
Good on them!
Gotta stay relevant somehow with Spiderman taking over practically all gaming news and reviews these last few days.
It’s a move in the right direction for Xbox. But the other half of the effort comes from the fanbase supporting those sorts of games.
Data shows that the Xbox fanbase simply underperforms when it comes to supporting single-player exclusives released on Xbox. Even worse when it comes to Japanese games.
I think most individuals who are knowledgeable of VR would respectfully disagree that there’s not a strong library. It’s gotten much more support across the board (PC, PS4, Mobile) that it’ll continue to develop well into future generations.
There was a really interesting article after Ready Player One came out that outlined the book and how some sci-fi concepts at the time are becoming or have become reality in the last few years.
I’m easily gonna do like 3x that just swinging around 😂
That’s an excellent campaign length!
I believe so. I went back to the original post and people were responding to others that asked the same thing. Most either said they didn’t see anything or that it was the new controller colors. So more than likely the latter of the two.
It was more controller colors. I think Aaron showed them on his Twitter. Not the supposed new elite controller afterall.
Hope you didn’t get your hopes up too much. It unfortunately ended up being more controller colors.
This guy is the equivalent of a used car salesman.
