I think Playstation just needs to 'plead the 5th' on this, and just focus on the games. I have a feeling that Sony was dreading this moment.
It's the same as comparing an RX 5700XT
Paired with a lower clocked CPU vs an RTX 2080 Super paired with a higher clocked CPU. Go onto youtube and check out performace benchmark comparisons between the 5700XT and 2080 Super.
For reference, the 5700XT is slighly slower than a 2070 Super, which performs at a lower level that the 2080 Super. The PS5 will run at native 4K/60 no problem, but graphics settings will be the equivelent to medium/low settings on PC. The...
10.28 Tflops isn't bad, as that is essentially the same processing power of the RX 5700XT Anniversary Edition. The small 825GB SSD is a disappointment, and so is the backwards compatibility.
The 3.5ghz CPU clock speed should also be fine, but Microsoft has been on point with their messaging this time around, and it is already engrained in everyones head where the premium experience will be next generation. On top of that, with all of Microsofts new Studios ready to go, ...
Now we need to know how many CPU cores will be dedicated to gaming.
The price is going to be interesting. I'm guessing $699.99 USD. If it's any cheaper than that, I would be amazed.
My new PC build has similar specs in some aspects, but with:
- R7 2700X Zen+ 8 Core 16 Thread CPU 3.7ghz base clock and 4.3ghz boost clock
- 32GB DDR4 3200mhz system memory
- 8GB GDDR6 VRAM (496 GB/s Bandwidth)
- 2TB NVMe SSD internal storage
- RTX 2080 Super (11.24 Tflops) with 1830mhz GPU boost clo...

As per the photo, having too many games can give you blue controller....
Not only is the game simply releasing on PC, they're actually doing it the proper way. This is great to see!
I will be purchasing this the day it launches. You have to give support to Sony, to show them that they are making the right decision.
I just bought all of the PC parts I need for my next gen build, and I think I hit it at just the right time. Not only do I have everything I need for my PC build, but I also have lots of toilet paper and a stockpile of Campbell's soup. Buckle up everyone!!!!!
Oh well, here in Canada, the government hasn't stopped travel from China, South Korea or Europe. it's almost as if they wanted the virus to infect the population. The Conservatives pressed the Trudeau Liberal government in question period yesterday, on why we haven't shut down air travel fro seriously affected areas, and all we got were non-answers.
Now we're being told that shutting down air travel doesn't help contain viruses, and that Canadians shou...
Big
It means big things for Sony's future. Greatness awaits!
Whether it's 11Tflops or 12Tflops, both systems will be full fledged 4K systems, especially with the efficiencies consoles bring. This however, wont stop some people from making constant comparisons...
Right now, you have to wonder if Sony is actually going to release a console this year. We know what the logo looks like, and that's about it. At this point, Xbox is crushing it with all of the great details coming out so far.
They're still setting up the checker board, so they haven't had time to make any announcements yet.
@ Razzer
Quite possible indeed. Here's the thing though, Microsoft's lower end console, in terms of Tflop performance, could end up being the same as Sony's console, but without dedicated ray tracing cores, and that is something that could muddy the waters for consumers. This is why I'm actually more interested in seeing just what Microsoft does end up doing with the lower end console.
Conversely, they could come in with something similar ...
I agree, and this is especially weird since they absolutely killed it this generation with console sales. You would think that they would have some massive swagger going into the next generation, but we're not seeing it.
They not only need to make a proper Splinter Cell game, they need to make some proper Tom Clancy games in general. Tom Clancy himself, is probably rolling over in his grave, watching these idiots try to cash in on his name without making anything resembling authenticity.
