I remember playing these games on my parents computer on Windows 95. These were so much fun, but I stopped playing after Tiberian Sun.
None of this will matter. People who have been looking forward to this game will buy this game, and that's a lot of people, me included. Even if you have seen some of the spoilers, the mood and atmosphere of the game should still make you want to play it.

It's basically the same performance as a 1080TI, but while the 1080TI has more VRAM, it doesn't have dedicated Ray Tracing cores.

There are going to be big differences between the two. The Series X has a higher clocked CPU and a much stronger GPU, with a slightly slower SSD. The PS5 will have lower texture quality, shadow quality, physics abilities and a lower native resolution. Anyone trying to sell people on this SSD being a game changer, is selling you snake oil.

This is all just hype. Let's see what the deal is after people have used it, and lets see if developers actually utilize it in a meaningful way. We've heard this all before with the Playstation Eye, then it was the Six Axis Dual Shock controller, then 3D became the hype, then the Playstation Move controllers, and on and on.

Mark Cerny was 100% right about the SSD in the PS5, but the textures, physics and shadows will be of a lower quality compared to the Series X, and will probably be of a lower native resolution too. Less powerful hardware is what it is....less powerful.
Exactly, someone who understands playing games @ 1080p/60 on medium-high settings (Lockhart) vs 4K/60 on very high-ultra settings (Series X).

Its nonsense ideas like this that ruin game series. This is why Socom isn't around anymore, because they changed the formula, turning long time fans away from the series. If you don't like first person shooters, then play something else.
