Having not played Resistance 2 yet I can't really disagree with you until i've experienced it myself!

But didn't edge rate the 50 cent game like an 8/10 and Killzone 2 a 7/10? R2 6/10? so judging by Edge I should buy 50 Cent over Killzone 2 and R2?

It's a good job I don't make my decisions based on Edge's reviews.

@ Struz, I personally think that no matter how good Graphics get at representing reality, the artistic stylised vision will always appeal to me always. I think there will probably be a generation where 'realistic' graphics take charge, but this will soon become over used and boring, all the games will look so similar. Gamers will crave a unique visual style to mix things up a bit. I'm not saying there is a place for realistic games, I think what we need is a balance of both :)

@ Montreafart

no 'true gamer' would make the mistake of listing Metal Gear Solid 2 as a Playstation 1 game ;)

Sony May as well drop the HDMI and all other audio video out ports on the PS3 if they were going to drop blu ray! that'll save even more money...

See I could be an analyst too :)

This generation I personally wouldn't touch the 360 due to it's questionable build quality, and to some this may make me appear as a fanboy, however if next gen the ms build a reliable console, and continue with a strong range of games, then I would definitely consider buying there console.

I'm a fan of quality built products / software. xbox live is great, but to me is not worth the money when PSN is free and isn't far off, espically when all I care about is playing games onlin...

why out of 7? why not a mark out of 5 or a mark out of 10?

6173d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

you make a very valid point,

the cases you mention are all points where developers are cashing in on consumers.

but it does not mean all dlc is bad, most likely this re5 dlc has been planned for some time now, but like others have stated prehaps it just wasn't within the budget for the product. companies need to stay afloat, doesn't mean we have to buy the dlc.

I like to agree with you, maybe I'm naive too, but I like to give them a chance first.

I personally will wait until the DLC is released before I judge them, and judge for myself if it's worth while. Hell I bought the game for well under $5 below the RRP by being a clever shopper, when i've exhausted playing the game I'll judge to see if the DLC is value for money at $5.

maybe it should of been included on disk, maybe it shouldn't. but it's not like I bought the game ...

it is a price increase for the British population,

The price of products rises in the UK, but the this is not comparable to wages, in some cases people are forced to take pay cuts, work 4 day weeks or or risk loosing there job, in other cases people have just lost there jobs.

Obviously this does not apply to everyone in the UK, some people are still doing well, but even those could be forced to pay £200 instead of £180, how is that not a price increase?

I would like to know what it costs Nintendo to manufacture and ship these consoles to retailers!!!

They must be making a killing!

What a load of rubbish! COD4 did not 'reinvent' the FPS genre! it's one hell of a quality game, the multiplayer was well refined and added a few new elements. Overall it was a well polished quality multiplayer game. Single player personally I thought it was sub par, more like a training ground to get use to the controls and feel of the game before jumping into multiplayer. The whole single player experience felt like 'stand here, shoot them' that doesn't sound much like...

I agree with Will on this one, did you just pull a magic number out of a hat? is it 2 million who have downloaded on 360? because if so why would they care?

@ Will Smith

You may not be that bothered about GTA4 dlc and neither am I, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it crap dlc. as far as dlc goes it's up there with the best, but too many games and too little time means even if it did make it to PS3 (which I don't think it will) I don't t...

I tried Crossover games for Mac with little success, I only managed to get Half Life 1 working (if you can call it worked, I couldn't dare pause the game or drop back into the menu otherwise it would crash) and I tried about 5-10 over games all with no luck at all. even though some of them were listed as working near perfectly.

I don't know if this was just my experience, but from trying the trail I had no intention of buying the product. it just showed me if I want to play Wind...

I'm so fed up with these generic articles...

"can (enter high profile game here) save the PS3!"

Yes the PS3 is currently in last place behind a Nintendo Wii (which is at a much lower price point and aimed at a completely different target audience) and an Xbox 360 (which had a whole year head start in sales on the PS3) and even if it finishes this console generation in last place I don't think it's been a failure, maybe just a learning curve for Sony. But I'...

interesting read, it does seem to sound like a patent for the method, and therefore not stopping anyone else creating there own method for in-game music, or loophole as you put it.

It's could be a bit like Nintendo have a patent for the d-pad, but it doesn't stop Sony & MS creating there own style of d-pad.

Either way I'm not going to loose sleep over it :)

@ heroicjanitor

Did MS really patent in game music? (serious question) because it seems like such an everyday feature it'd be impossible to patent,

a bit like saying Dreamworks patent CGI Animated Movies, therefore no one else can patent it?

I would of thought more likely MS developed a software to deliver in game music and that is what the patent is for, but it doesn't stop a competing company producing it's own software which delivers the same feature ...

Looks like you didn't read the minimum requirements for Adobe CS before you bought it, as by the sounds of it you didn't have the right OS installed for it.

You'd think you'd check the minimum requirements before spending £1500+ on a piece of software?
