Even Minesweeper doesn't that many surprises.
There's one ramification that everyone seem to forget or chose to ignore : Diablo 3's DRM doesn't allow mods.
Just as Skyrim made mods seem cool again to the masses, here comes Diablo 3 saying NO!
That would be a sad future (one that console developers would certainly love since it'll get rid of those pesky modders). Publishers like Ubisoft had a hard time to get their own online DRM to be accepted so the article suggested to overcome that the...
I was playing Batman Arkham City a month ago. Suddenly, while I was zipping across high above the city/prison, a tiny reminder popped out at the corner of the screen with the cutest little sound. Apparently my internet went down and GFWL was disconnected from LIVE. I didn't even know I had logged on to LIVE.
No worry. I was still able to play the game for the next several hours, terrorizing the hell out Arkham City's inmates. My achievements were stored offline and on...
I'm not really into zombie games. I've tried Left 4 Dead and it was fun for a while. Repeating the same old chapters, rushing through hoards of undead across a set area, raking up points...tend to get dull after a while.
An expansive world that you can explore ,filled with random zombies where you are more terrified of other human players than the stumbling meat bags.
Now, I'm really interested.
"...customers should feel that they want to buy it."
So true.
I went to the city which was two hours from my town to get The Witcher 2 after I heard they ditched SecureRom in the second patch.I'm willing to give Ghost Recon Future Soldier a try when I heard they are ditching their old atrocious DRM.
I ignored Diablo 3 and STALKER 2 after they announced their permanent online connection DRM.
Yes,it is kinda odd that they held back the reviews this long. Max Payne 3 haven't been out that long and there were already tons of reviews about it before and around its launch day. And yet, Diablo 3 reviews seem to be deliberately held back. If this article is of any value, I wouldn't be surprised if the other reviews will try to avoid or downplay the server issues also.
Talk about selective journalism. And cheating.
So, Battlefield 3 had a horrible Beta and everyone said that will severely ward off fans before launch day. Even the relatively smaller server issues (compared to Diablo 3)it had in its first couple days were cited in reviews and affect the score a bit.
Here's article from the very same website talking about BF3's server issues:

It's sad to see an upstart company made more money than EA all thanks to one game. EA released tons of game every year for all types o gaming system since the 1980s only to be compared, usually in a negative light, with a company that sold only ONE game in the past decade.
More importantly I do hope this won't force EA to abandon us for mobiles.
I'm still determining whether to download the Steam version or the retail version.
Maybe it is the ingame cinematics powered by the actual game engine. Only I just remembered all those HD car models from the racing games that you view in thousands of pixels in the lobby only to have everything cut in half during gameplay to save resources. You wouldn't noticed since everything's a blur and you assume you're seeing the same HD textures from the static viewing lobby before the race.
Which is also why I set my Steam client offline all the time unless for some essential updates. You never know when the internet might crap out on you. Which was exactly what happened last week. My internet suddenly went down and I decided to play some Steam game only to remember that I forgot to set it to offline mode. Imagine the horror on face seeing that...
Yes, I have other games that doesn't use Steam that I could play to pass the time until the internet is back but...
That's a future that I will truly hate and will not be a part of.
Good for them. The constant threat of betrayal in a zombie infested region with a tiny sliver of kindness among potential friends intrigue me very much.
I thought the lower right corner was the review score for the game at 90. And then I came back a hour later, it jumped to 91.
I know MP3 might be good but not THAT good that it warrant a review score increase....
Oh, it's the actually number of posters in the comment comment section. The score was on the left.
Well...there is that Day Z mod for Arma 2. On arrival betrayals, uneasy cooperation with 50 other players, hundreds of zombies in a huge single map.
What is funny about 35gb? I still have 500gb of free HDD space on my PC and I'm planning to add another 2TB soon-just for fun-to add to the combined total of 4TB that is already on board. I have stopped balking at PC games' hard disk requirement years ago.
At least I don't have to swap discs to play or erase some data to make room like I used to.
As a PC gamer I have to consider these factors in:
Diablo 3: permanent online DRM disguised as an online auction store.
Max Payne 3: delayed by 2 weeks.
...
I have the patience to wait another 2 weeks for MP3. I've boycotted Ubisoft (not buying any of their games) for using permanent online DRM and I'm not going to give any other game developer the exception. So, no D3 for me.
Ordinary humans who work for SHIELD all those years. They managed to track down and secretly gather those superheroes together. Those same humans have high confident and trust with the Avengers initiative while those same heroes question every moral implications of their efforts and bickered a lot among themselves.
Thousands of them bravely crew the flying carriers knowing full well that TWO direct hits to the giants fans would spell instant doom for everyone onboard. They e...
"You won’t be able to play in the cloud while you don’t have internet access"
"I think in a cloud future there will be no issues with any online DRM features".
So wait...that means cloud licensing IS a type of online DRM. Online DRMs, like what Ubisoft used, requires you to be connected to the game's servers to play. Cloud licensing also require you to do the same.
Permanent online connection, limited activation and d...
I agree that DRM is a waste of time. It is also more troublesome for legit users than it really should. I hated the fact that I've used up half of my instal limit for DCS A-10C simulation.
But when a DRM does work, an extremely rare event, it produce hilarious results.Prime example: Serious Sam BFE's immortal, Gatling-totting, pirate-eating pink scorpion. Another would be Arma 2's unique degradation of gameplay and graphic. Both game lured the pirates into a fals...
