unfortunately MS doesnt have the staff to look at eveything everyone does, otherwise i expect it would be stricter. so for now its up to the users to alert ms to offenders. so if you see "pimp" report him.
but you agree to MS' TOS. every one calls out freedom of speech without understanding what it means. you dont have the freedom of speech everywhere. for instance you cant go into a crowded mall and yell "FIRE"
etc.
i agree it seems silly when they just mentioned it, but its a zero tolerance policy on anyone. which i think is the best. its too hard to determine what is ok or not ok. and then if they do make those calls, its subjective to who is working, and...
MS cant patrol every game, listen to every word uttered. report the kids, file a complaint. just like what happens with gamertags and profiles. MS needs their users to actually use the report system.
1. not really. its a dont tell policy. i would bet any one mentioning sexuality would get a suspension if they get reported or anything like that. its pure unbias, just dont talk about it, then no problem.
2. its also not your place to say what is ok for another mans child. its his child to raise how he sees fit. unfortunetly some people are raised to be racist, sexist, and untollerant of anything else. I get hated on daily for studying the Wiccan religion because everyone accuses wicca...
its not exactly ok for people to be doing that either. its against the TOS as well. its your job to report them so that MS knows they were doing that.
1. People need to take the time to read the TOS, its not just an annoying screen you have to go through.
2. people need to get it through their head that on MS's network it is not ok to put that kinda stuff in your profile, which is understandable considering you never know who is on the other side of the pipeline.
3. how is "kids say worse in chat" a valid argument? you are suppose to report kids who throw insults like that so they can be banned. its not ok for kids to ...
those were more like statements, answeres to questions gabe was asked.
personally i will take honesty over PR bullshit. i can choose to agree, dissagree, and make a statement with my pocket book. i wont get upset over a guy not liking my ps3.
as for the problem, what problem? is there a problem with being a PC developer? no one says naughty dog has a problem cause they dont support PC.
i smell a double standard.
then dont go to stuff about valve. they are not forcing their opinion down their throat. they are entitled to their own opinion, get over it.
stop crying.
you guys are taking it too personally. from a PC developers point of view (lets step into valves shoes shall we?)
you are handed a new system... with an unusual arectecture. a processor very unlike what the standard is for the industry. nothing like the PC in any way. instead you haves the SPE's instead of full on multi-core processing, a very weak GPU that needs the main processor help it do calculations for graphics, and ram split in a very odd way in which for the GPU to use a...
why care who they bash? they can have opinions about it.
i hate the "unless you are praising our system STFU" mentality.
and why should they say "our bad on the orange box for ps3"? it was all EA.
people keep asking gabe for his opinion, he gives it. at least he doesnt fake. people are just looking for a story.
its not that its too hard for them. they have talent and if they sat down and learned it, they could. they just dont see the point in learning this "unique" system design, when in 3 years there will be new consoles out, and all the time they just invested into learning the ps3 is now worthless.
why cant game "journalists" get this?
the forums are to nice, easy to over look. if they have their mail box overflowing with complaints, it makes a bigger statement.
there are bugs in all versions that have effected everyone,
PC has connection issues (major)
all versions i know of had the 5 lines of text issues, etc.
gearbox cant catch everything but how can they not catch 5 lines of text or connection issues?
everyone needs to email gearbox, demand patches.
on the PC version you cant co-op unless you join the game of someone who manually went in and forward some ports. not to mention the menus are buggy on the PC version as well.
did this DLC add to the skill tree? i love the game and want a more robust skill tree system (which i heard was in the works). I will buy this just for the skill tree and to shoot zombies.
Sorry that the consumer doesnt want to be sheep.
what is making IW try harder next time if they throw down a pile of s*** and we buy it like gold? nothing, they see we bought it, and they will do it again.
we need to send them a stronger message. we have choice, and I wouldnt buy a low quality washer and dryer for more than a great pair. why should it be different for games?
Wow is constantly getting users support and content for free.
and last I checked B.net is free and the only "pay to play" is wow.
yet somehow SC,WC3 etc still let us have all these features that IW cut.
-_-; how can people disagree with me when he mentions going into your steam folder and changing settings?
why a year back?
This will keep me from getting a PSP, but enjoying all the games for it.
i just hope square puts KH on the store sometime. they said BBS wasnt going to be avaiable via the store...
