whats wrong with shooters? would it be better instead of shooters we had mostly RPGs? then everyone would be sick of RPGs and be wanting more shooters.
as long as we still have developers pushing the market and such within the shooter genre and others we are fine.
lots of shooters... so what? they are big in the industry. each of the big ones each offering something the others do not.
glad Sony is laying the base, in which 6 years from now that I might actually have a 3d tv there will be reason to own one.
I dont dissagree with that, however did you forget Sony also sells things? Royalties off games, god knows how much off the PSN, and Sony also has 3rd party developers handle their servers as well.
yes sony has lots of servers, yes they are a blackhole for money,
but that doesnt change the fact i think OS changes should be for everyone. if PS3 was like Valves Steam service where it looked at my game installs, checked if they were up to date and if not updated ...
he might have been refering to game firmware.
its called firmware as well correct?
I agree with the author that things like the background updating should be to all users, not just PSN plus.
offering beta, free games as long as you are a member of plus, and other things are a great deal. nothing big enough to win over my dollar. I hate renting and those "free titles" i get every month are basically yearly rentals. its like netflix, i have access to the content but i dont own it.
i just dont think such major software enhancements t...
its not really MSs money, and hes just another character. a small camio but as long as it doesnt feel forced i have no problems with it.
do you guys also complain when an actor you dont like gets a part in a movie? "this could have been a great movie if arnold wasnt in it!"
things happen,
you cant download your game the second you want it... sucks... but then again you dont go writting angry articles when a store doesnt have your game, or when your internet connection goes down due to a powerline went down somewhere.
Steam uses servers, sometimes the servers do get over worked and as such you have to wait an hour to get your game. if you have to have the game that second, you shouldn't even be using steam. get the disk. i mean if you...
everyone has different tastes, good thing there are more games on the market than just the "realistic" ones. I like both realistic and fantasy games.
this isnt worth n4g. how did this get approved?
to just take over them.
those banks which the tax payers gave money can now be controlled by the government which has no business in.
look at GM, if GM were to screw up, whats the point in going after them? we the tax payers have a ton of money invested in GM, so if we hammer them, we hammer ourselves.
why target games?
why not target other industries as well? if its really about education (which the US system is rather flawed. and for the most part sub-par) then everything should have been called out.
too many QBs in football spending too much time on the field, too many kids at the movies and parties,
etc. etc. etc.
Obama is really good at trying to single people out. god i hate him.
the USAF didnt seem to concerned when the slims didnt have it anymore. they dont need to update their "super computer" ps3s.
sucks the refurbs are updated and can use other OS, and that might be a legit case where the user didnt want to update and elected not to, but sony did it for them on their broken unit.
i'm not upset you have a point of view, we all have a different one. be smart in how you present it.
other than this is a game. dont make such dumb comparisions that blow everything out of purportion.
i like to play brawl one way, you like another. you dont see people fighting over the right way to play with a ball do you? or that volley ball is any less fun than soccer. its all prefrence.
geez you people need to learn not everyone views things the sameway you do.
i think you are in the wrong for presenting it as tho those who play for competition are not having fun.
then stop trying to make it seem as others are playing it wrong, or are not "having fun".
@ seeker to me competition is fun. so your logic = fail. you guys act like you cant have fun and be competitive.
@darkfocus i chose stars as an example. any of those things can turn the tide of battle against you, or for you. either way i dont care for it.
I personally like to remove any sort of "random" there is to a game as far as fighting goes. random stages is fine by me, but I dont want to loose to a guy over getting lucky or unlucky with items. my friend and I play for hours trying to see who is the better player, not who has better luck.
some of your will argue that using items is skill, but its not always that. him or I getting a star changes the whole dynamic of the game and gets away from testing our skill, and ...
as always if you are going to disagree at least leave a counter argument.
why should i be ok with a fanboy who brings little to the market? i stay away from his site, but I seem to always end up at one of his articles on here because i see a attention grabbing title.
i click it, see its HHG and leave.
he makes stuff up and presents it as fact
he makes his own opinion fact, that he will argue is fact.
he makes up predictions and trys to sound ...
not sure what you are trying to say.
that i dont find it unusual for the industry to have a dominant genre for a while? this article is pointless and is complaining we have so many shooters. we have lots of everything, but yes shooters are a very big and dominant genre right now.
