Metroid Prime was also fairly decent, with the channel to download on the Wii. The AC commercials are sickening though. Can't believe they ever considered that game to be "for the hardcore" and then put out those commercials.
Hell yes! Dungeon Explorer for example. Awesome game, with hilarious dialogue that really brings together the group of people playing the game to have fun mocking it. It's a really fun game too. But nowadays, Dungeon Explorer titles are all terrible. All I need is the attack button and two types of magic.
Loved how the bard's magic was almost useless. Change the music and teleport back to the tavern, woo!
Here's a better plan: make good games.
If Infogames had a majority share since 2000, there's no excuse for why they haven't been able to make quality titles under Infogames since then. It's just as much Infogames' fault. As long as a majority share is held, they pretty much have complete control over the company.

Out of that list, I've only played Gears 2 and GTA4, and if either of those are up for the title of GOTY 2008, it's a sure sign that 2008 hasn't really been a good year for gaming. Gears was kind of interesting and cool, but it wasn't fun. GTA4 was just more of the same on a different engine, with cars that made you feel like you were driving on greasy ice.
Some of the things I've seen done with LBP lead me to believe that it's probably better than either of the previous two game...

I think Ubisoft is more to blame than Nintendo. At least Nintendo tries to make quality casual products (ignoring Wii Music, of course). Ubisoft craps out more casual crap than all other companies combined. It is them and Popcorn Arcade that are ruining gaming. Oh, and stupid uninformed parents.
There aren't many hardcore games on the Xbox anyways. I can think of some, like Ninja Gaiden. GTA4 and Halo 3 are like the most casual "hardcore" games anyways.
I suspect IGN has been paid off. There's no way I can believe this. I refuse to, until other gaming sites post their reviews of the game.
