In the post about Webzen's game cancellation for PS3, the PS3 has a lot of ifs surrounding it right now-- IF it makes nov. 17th release date, IF Sony can ship the # of systems they promised, IF they don't have significant problems with their cheap blu-ray drives, IF people will but it for $600, IF its launch titles can compete with 360 heavyweights like Gears of War, Forza 2, etc., IF, IF, IF. I think publishers are waiting to see "IF," 1. Sony can deliver what they promised when ...

Aren't willing to gamble the MILLIONS of dollars next-gen development costs on an overpriced, unproven system. They will wait and see how many PS3's actually are sold, because even if Sony can deliver the meager number of systems they have promised for this holiday season, there is still a chance for another delay or (believe it or not) an artificial inflation of number of ACTUAL systems shipped. Also, the 360 with its supposed overheating problems, etc., that were within the normal range f...

Who gives a f^&k about japan? Japan's videogame market as a whole is on the decline, and with a few exceptions (Like Team Ninja's games) there is no game made in Japan that I could care less about. World-wide the 360 is doing quite well, and with the difficulty in programing for the Wii's new control style, and the high price of the PS3 coupled with concerns about Blu-ray, overall Microsoft is in a VERY GOOD position right now. Developers are already cancelling or putting on hold PS3 p...

Has one of the awesomest, yet surely one of the toughest, jobs around. Imagine winning the Lottery, but not being able to tell anyone in your family for, say, a week, or you risk losing the money. How hard would that be? I bet Frankie can hardly contain himself when he sees something awesome that he knows would blow fans away, but is required to keep mum about it. And the whole thing with trying to release just enough tidbits in his weekly update without "really" giving anything...

Instead of being a PSP or even DS like device, this new "combined media" player will show video clips, let you listen to and manage MP3's and other music files... and also let you play any Live Arcade game you have purchased on the go, at no extra charge. This seems far more likely to me that the multi-media mess Sony made of the PSP...

Sony caught lying again, and refusing to admit they were wrong (Again!) When Immersion sued Microsoft, they looked at things, realized they were wrong, settled with Immersion and bought stock in their company. Sony, on the other hand, refuses to admit they did anything wrong even though they lost the court case with Immersion, and instead add some jacked-up tilt feature to the PS3 and leave rumble out. All of a sudden, it is "unnecessary" and "won't work with the tilt functi...

I work about three blocks from a Best Buy. Last week, they had the Samsung Blu-Ray player hooked up to a Sony HD T.V. right next to the HD-DVD player hooked up to a Samsung T.V. (go figure). They were both (according to the salesman) running at 1080p. Guess what? No noticeable difference in video quality. BUT, the salesman, without any promting from me, says the HD-DVD player had the firmware update and now works flawlessly (apparently when they first came out there was some sort of prob...

I have the new maps, and only having attempted the Coffee Plantation about five times with three friends (WAY harder that first co-op missions, but WAY more fun, too), and the Port map once, I think that it was money well spent. There are hours and hours of new playtime here, and playing GRAW over live with friends is hands-down the most fun I have had with my 360. If you are on the fence about the download, all I can say is: Jump In!

NO one else has much to say about Real Deals comments. I think he is spot on. There are, however, some other things about this whole format war that bear mentioning. Sony has invested so much in blu-ray that they will do whatever it takes to win this format war. They are trying to sign exclusive deals with movie companies, pushing it into PS3, claiming it is the only "true" version of HD, and the only one that can run at 1080p. They are banking on their name, and the Playstatio...

The good guys (Microsoft) will triumph over the evil Empire (Sony) and blow their "Death Star" right the f@#k up (with their already-announced camera that has these features.)

Seriously, Sony, quit f^*&^ng copying everyone elses ideas and pretending it was something you were planning all along. Stick to trying to fix/release that jacked-up Beta-Blu-Ray player you've been working on...

You can't find 10 negative articles about MS everyday. Maybe not any, at least that deal with the Xbox360. The fact is, with E3 backlash, blu-ray delays, etc. now making the popular press, Sony is in a bit of trouble image-wise. They have, up to this point, over-promised and under-delivered on the PS3, and more and more people are noticing. Thats where these articles are coming from. People that post or respond on this site aren't writing this anti-Sony stuff. The counter-point is that M...

Is to delay stand-alone blu-ray players to the point that people would rather pick up a PS3. S, either this means that they are worried not enough GAMERS will buy their infernal machine, or they are worried about the format itself. Releasing stand-alone players early that have quality or reliablility problems would damn-near be a death knell for the PS3, because who would buy a PS3, knowing it probably has inferior (cheaper) blu-ray tech, when the high-end stand-alone players are crap? Rele...

I live in a city of 175,000 people and manage a Gamestop store. We get 8-10 360's every week, (Interesting note, they all seem to be premium packs, no cores)and sell most of them on the weekends. During the week sales are slow, and we still get people calling and asking if we have them for sale. At places like Wal-Mart and Best Buy, they get more systems, but sell less, because since it costs the same most people would rather buy a system at a game store.

That comes to $767.85 with tax. 360 with extra controller and game = $551.25. Difference = $216.60/60 = 3.61 more games you could by with a 360 to equal PS3 price. So.... System, extra controller, one game = System, extra controller and 5 games (or more, since you can get some 360 games for $39.99, and used ones even cheaper). Hmmm. If its all about the games, a 360 and Call of Duty 2, GRAW, Oblivion, and two more quality games of choice? Decision made....

Sony at least commenting on this stuff. The "average" gamer who does no research, etc., probably thinks that the PS3 is going to be the next best thing to sliced bread. I think, however, based on everything I've read on the internet, seen in the news (which isn't much, surprisingly) etc., Sony does have some issues. They have already proven that they can't deliver on their promises (2 HDMI ports, games running in 1080P, spring launch), that they are willing to copy the competitio...

Bungie has had the final specs for the 360 and dev kits longer that any other developer making games for the system. If you look at Gears of War, Mass Effect, etc. that are coming out this year, OMFG will Halo 3 look good. Add to that the fact that Bungie has an open dialogue with its fans (look at the game-type updates for Halo 2 live, for example)and chances are that some of these problems will definately be addressed. Halo 2 was the largest video-game release OF ALL TIME, so you know Bu...

A relatively unbiased article on the two titans of next-gen!! Funny thing is, fanboys on both sides are spinning it however they can! LOL! Wow. To me as a gamer, the important info is (claims from both companies aside) that the systems performance is VIRTUALLY IDENTICLE. This is in the real world, folks, not that fantasy land where Sony and Microsoft can both try to claim that their system is the most powerful. The games will look exactly the same. Less exclusives this time around, cou...

This has little to do with the original posted story. IF any new Ninja Gaiden game (not Black, which isn't new) did ever come to PS3, it would probably be a port of the 360 version. Itagaki has stated that he is "committed to the 360. DOA Extreme 2 is up next, and we will do a DOA 5 some time in the future, but as to what we are working on to come out after DOA extreme, I'm not ready to say yet." Just like in the last generation, Team Ninja usually sticks to one console. BUT, li...

All that stuff you said is true, but a better comment to tweak those PS3ers would be to point out that we can play a demo of this quality already, the final game will be even better, and their system is looking more and more unlikely to make it out this year...
