About Sony, its lies, etc., look how this info is affecting the WHOLE industry-- Sony, EA and Activision stock is all down, and you'd think this info would be good for Microsoft, but their stock is down a little, too. Sony HAS to try and spin this as a positive, because their COMPANIES EXISTENCE is hinging on the PS3 driving Blu-Ray as the market leader for HD movies. If you look between the lines, BLu-Ray has caused the delay/cutback in the PS3 launch twice now, and the stand-alone Blu-Ray...
But with their announcement of sending 4/5ths of the initial shipment of PS3's to America (part of their last ditch attempt to save their Blu-Ray agenda) I bet a LOT of Japanses Developers are a little pissed-- games they have been working on can ONLY sell 100,000 at launch in Japan now, IF that many systems are produced and EVERYONE who gets a PS3 buys THEIR game. It takes time to localize these games, redoing the voiceovers, etc., so some titles won't be ready for launch in the U.S. Maybe...
runs rampant. By the time this little nugget is released (whatever it is), it, too, will fail to live up to the hype like so many game-related announcements before it. MY guess is that Kaz and Ken will commit ritual suicide with samurai swords in the middle of Akibhara(?)in front of thousands of applauding Sony stock holders. (Seriously, have you seen what has happened to their stock lately?)
The PS2 stole the Dreamcasts thunder with Sony's false promises about the "emotion engine" and "Toy-Story-like graphics" (yes, Sony used this term/comparision first) and until the Xbox and Gamecube were released a year later, basically they had no competition. This time, gamers are a little more discerning-- most realize that Sony's Killzone video was just CGI propaganda, once again aimed at making consumers wait for a supposedly more advanced system. They will be fighti...
That Sony can only brag about *maybe* having more units of the PS3 available at launch in the U.S.... but completely leave out that to do so they are completely shafting all of Europe and only offering 100k in Japan! Good grief, they are so desperate for some positive spin that they are going to release 80% of the available units in the U.S. just so they can say they had more available than microsoft did at launch? What about the fact that they cut their launch numbers by 75%? Sony, as a c...
Although MS won't cut 360's price this year, next March would be a great time for a $100 price cut on both systems. So even when Sony finally does have systems to sell (maybe) they will be WAY overpriced compared to the 360 and its much larger list of games.
Welcome Change, Sony fanboys, it's time for a new market leader....
animal in the world will eventually quit coming when you call it if all it has to look forward to for licking your hand is a kick in the face. Way to go, Sony. Now it makes sense why they didn't show up at Leipzig-- they don't give a sh1t about Europe or European gamers....
World-wide, an absolute disaster. Try paying only 25% of a bill, living on 25% of your current income, or completing only 25% of a work project by the deadline. Hell, 50% would have still been a failing grade anywhere I've heard of. And then, delivering 0% to Europe-- kind of makes sense why Sony didn't show at Leipzig, and why they wanted to "concentrate on TGS," eh? Any European gamer who waits until NEXT MARCH (Thats half a year, folks) and meekly buys a PS 3-times delayed is ...
- Delayed launch in Europe
- Only delivering 25% of the systems they promised (Uh, last I checked, if I get a 25% on a test that's not just failing, that's failing fu(king miserably)
- No HDMI cables packed in, cutting specs, cutting features
- Sony going from #1 to #3 in the videogame market-- maybe that is why they have the number 3 in their slogan: Welcom3 Chang3 indeed!
From now (Sept.) through the end of the year the 360 is expected to sell AT LEAST 1 million world-wide per month, some analysts predicted more like 2 million, and this was even before the PS3 launch numbers were cut by 75%-- now Microsoft is in the drivers seat-- publishers counting on the PS3 launch to sell titles this holiday will throw themselves behind the 360 version of their game and any Wii titles they are working on instead. Sony is in big, big trouble.
Where are all the Sony fans trying in vain to defend a company that has proven over and over they could give a sh1t about their fans, gamers, or consumers in general? How can you spin this? All along 360 fans have been right-- Blu-Ray was a mistake, caused the first PS3 launch delay, and now is causing allocations to be cut by 75% in the US and Japan, and delayed completely in Europe. Just watch-- the first systems that do come out will end up having systematic drive failures, far worse th...
You admit Sony is a bunch of lying copy-cats and try and bag on the 360 at the same time. No matter what you say, Sony's fu(ked up launch is THEIR FAULT and THEIR FAULT ALONE!!!
How Sony cut US allocations of PS2 less than a week before launch? They halved the number, and since I work at Gamestop, I got to call people who had a system reserved for almost a year and tell them that they wouldn't be getting one. It sucked, and is why Gamestop will take very, very limited preorders for PS3.
Extra content means making-of videos, art galleries, etc. Extra levels? Doubtful, not worth the time for only one system in a multi-platform release. Remember, by the time this game comes out, 360 will still have AT LEAST a 2 to 1 install base lead over PS3. SO-- instead of a special edition (like Gears of War) coming with an extra dvd for the videos, etc., they put it all on one Blu-Ray. Woo-hoo.
It makes it sound like that info just appeared on Sony's website, and sorta hidden, too. SONY STILL will not release any info to counter all the bad press they have received lately. Ask yourself: why?
that Sony claimed the PS3 would be 100% backwards-compatable. Kaz said in an interview that the 360's "method of emulation [for backwards-compatability] is unacceptable. Just like with the PS2, the PS3 will contain the hardware to run all PS2 and PS1 games. This is what the gamers expect, and this is what Sony will deliver." Apparently not. Sony=overpromising and under-delivering, as well as outright lying, to gamers. Microsoft=underpromising and over-delivering, correcting mi...
He doesn't work for Microsoft, they are just publishing his Companies' game. His companie, Real Time Worlds, is an independant developer. Don't be an ignorant idiot.
The more the 360 will sell, period. People waiting, and waiting, and waiting for the PS3 (some of them) will just "Jump In" this fall when they realize they might have to wait until the middle of next year to find a PS3 on the shelf. Couple that with even avowed Sony fans' disappointment at the price, the negative press about Blu-Ray, and Sony's history of defective products and failure to meet production estimates (remember how less than a week before the PS2 came out, they cut a...
Who is making a 'tard pack now? HA LOL HA, what is Sony's next big lie to be revealed?
1. Launching this year?
2. 2 million PS3's for launch?
3. Free Online gameplay?
Let's vote, people. I think all three might be true, or at least if the PS3 makes its date of Nov. 17th, there probably won't be no 2 million available.
I vote for #3 -- I think some games, probably the ones published by Sony, might have free online gameplay, but other publi...
This information about Sony's drastic cut in available PS3's at launch is quickly making its way to the average consumer. At the Gamestop I work at, we sold out of Xbox 360's this week for the first time in months (we usually have 10-12 availble per week, and sell about that many, so stock has been constant.) One person who bought one was waiting on the PS3 and gave up when he heard the news, another wanted to get a system for his kids for Christmas, heard about the PS3 thing, and bought a ...
