I'm going to have to be honest. I just can't see the handheld market being successful for very much longer with other handheld devices such as i pads i phones and amazon's new tablets out on the market.
It's an ambitious project for sure.
Obsidian is a huge rpg developer for a game like south park. I don't care what anyone says about Fall Out New Vegas, really it is a great wrpg. Matt and Trey often get serious about their non - tv projects as well and may commit themselves to writing a script that they feel is serious.
I can see a game like this ending up like a Mario RPG, a game you'd expect to fail at first but it ends up being a solid game.
That is also why people aren't looking forward to the next generation.
Of course the technology is there and graphics could be improved substantially, but the cost of making games is getting high and is already too high for many developers that go the handheld, iphone, or psn/live route.
So if a new console is made and the graphics stay similar to the current generation then what is the point.
No, Dragon Age 2 by far is the biggest disappointment.
Bioware was poised to be crowned the greatest rpg maker this generation with the release of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. But Dragon Age 2 was such a disappointment it even made Mass Effect 2 (a fine sequel) look worse. It's too bad because Dragon Age was such a great game, but now we really have to question Bioware's new direction (now under EA)and that is because of Dragon Age 2.
Thats because playing Elder Scrolls games can be addictive and eat into your real life..... Wait were we talking about something else?
How's this not awesome
It's between U3 and Skyrim, conveniently comment 1 and 2 allow you to pile on the agrees and/or disagrees. Now we can see what this site likes better.
edit.
You may disagree with a clear cut victory here, but there has been so much of a debate over these 2 games on this site, I want to see how this plays out.
The article is too wordy and could have been summed up much more quickly..... But there is some good points.
To make it easier. Here is the summery quick.
1. Interface - too complicated and a pain during combat even with favorites.
2.Leveling system - 50 points go into 251 different possible perks and the leveling system is uneven. Some leveling such as lock-picking is also easy to cheat and exploit.
3. Races - Carry less wei...
Random and false d.o.b. entered in by the end users, sounds easy enough for any 13 year old to figure out. Really they aren't that stupid. It is like saying, "hey if you are under 18 you are too stupid to know your age."
Also, if you think a picture of a Dragon is too much for you kid to handle then clearly you have some issues.
The Nexus community is quite a bit ahead of fixing this game compared to Bethesda. The 4GB ram address really helped my performance. Performance was my biggest issue.
Why the hell do I have to enter age verification to get info on a patch?
This age verification feature serves no other purpose then annoying the end users anyway.
I still remember the Super Nintendo - Sega Genesis console war. That was a big battle even though Super Nintendo came up big. Reminds me of the PS3 - 360 battle.
I will agree with you on the FPS genre, I really can't understand why people keep buying COD games.....
But, Skyrim is a blockbuster and is really starting a new era and capitalizing on a lost gaming group. It has everything hardcore gamers like.
Sure, I miss the quality games by Squaresoft. SE took a direction that called gamers less complex and with shorter attention spans. For a while it looked like all old complex series such as FF were going to made...
AMD has never had bad prices for any of their products.
@ExgamerLegends
I'm not sure where you were directing that talk.... But my comment certainly wasn't anti-chritian, I read this article and it reeked of radical intolerance from Christian fundamentalism. I also stated that it is unfortunate for normal Christians. Sure atheists can be radical fundamentalists too, I tried to incorporate another religion to show I wasn't discriminating just didn't use athiesm in my example. I do have Christian friends afteral.... ...
not the case..
"Sony and Nintendo should stop making consoles" "consoles"
"Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft [are] dinosaurs"
Some tech advisers are dense. They really think the iphone and ipads are going to bring forth the extinction of every other electronic device on this planet.
It is like they forget the capabilities of these devices..... Their logic; the gimped memory, processor speed, graphics capabilities, and whopping 8-32 gigs of storage will make the perfect gaming machine because cloud gaming will be perfected tomorrow and everyone will magically have the bandwidth to run it.
The mods are just scratching the surface.
watch out for the Skyrim HD mod. It may make the game look radically better once its complete just look at the past game versions.
The best mods take a while to complete.
its radical thinking; unfortunately, and ironically, sometimes people doped up on religion bring out the absolute worst of humanity. A few steps away from this "Jesus freak" mentality is the mentality of AL-quida.
....It is also unfortunate for the moderate christains who use religion for basic morals and established tradition to be made to look the fool because of these scary jokers.
The PS3 by far has the best processor, it has a fine gpu, both of which can carry games..... But, the memory was Sony's biggest mistake.
Sure, Bethesda had bugs they should have taken care of. But lets be honest here, the memory has been the pain of developing for the PS3 this generation. Had Sony doubled it like the 360, then multi platform games wouldn't look better on the 360 and we wouldn't be reading all these complaints from developers on why they have to u...
