So far it looks like the Wii U is an expansion of the Wii. To play it you will need everything you currently own from your Wii which is, motion controls, sensor, ect. First time Wii buyers (i.e. the hardcore gamers) aren't going to feel comfortable buying into this if they also have to purchase other accessories.....

This is definitely the right direction, no one want to make a big investment in buying a streaming device just for on live. A even better move would be to stream through gaming consoles so you don't even need to buy a controller.

1. Dragons fly Backwards
2. Resistance is ignored
fixed with patch 1.3; But this patch is only out on pc as of now , so 360 and PS3 still only have patch 1.2..... In a few days you will have patch 1.3 as well that will fix backwards dragons, restore resistance, and even give some more performance upgrades.

The 64 bit revolution is coming on strong now. Cheap memory, pre-installed 64bit OS's in new pc's, and new apple os's that only support 64bit.... I'd have to say the 64bit kids have taken over.
The 64bit era has now begun..... Developers are just figuring that out.

The Souls series, despite being fun, just doesn't have the development and level design most AAA games have and you know it. How can that give it a one up on Skyrim whom has a great level design and, despite your opinion of fun, best scripting seen in any game this year.

You mean like you "fetch" souls and weapons in Dark Souls. The only difference is Dark Souls has sub par scripting so the world feels alien.
I'll take new quests for "level grinding" as opposed to fighting enemies that stay in the same exact spot over and over again.

Witcher 2 has the best graphics, best story, and best combat.. Skyrim has a lot more depth.
I like Skyrim a little more, but Witcher 2 was made by a small time developer, Maybe they should get the nod... But of course they will be overlooked.
We could also say Dark Souls uses it's hard (or tedious) combat to hide the shallowness of it's level designs.
I'm a fan of both these games, Dark Souls is a fun game. But it has nothing on Skyrim as far as development goes... That is why Skyrim deserves to be ranked higher for GOTY.
I'm not sure if people voted for the underdog or what?...... I think we all know Skyward won't beat Skyrim for GOTY.
It would be smart to abandon the cell processor. When the xbox, wii u and pc are all being tailored for quad core games, the cell processor is going to stick out like a sore thumb.
My wish list....
- backward compatibility with ps1/ps2/ps3 games. (Getting ps2 games is a huge incentive)
- At least 2Gb's of Memory
- A GPU better then the ati HD 5570. (sure the card gives a performance boost over the PS3 and is the best low power car...
The causal market is a huge market, but don't expect the hardcore market go away though. Developers are making big mistakes by mixing up these 2 markets. We are seeing games like FF trying to become more casual friendly and are really just upsetting people in the process.

1st place xbox = 5% increase year-over-year
2nd place Wii = 17% decrease in sales year-over-year
3rd place PS3 = massive 41% increase in sales year-over year

I'm going to make a bold prediction and say this one will last half a generation. Dream cast 2.0; It'll start out good but come into heavy fire once Sony and now Microsoft launch their new consoles.
