This is a huge trump card for Sony....Bungie is an amazing developer and destiny will be an amazing game...

Whilst i agree with the points you make.....Sony with Gaikai / sharing is going down a similar path as well...Both next gen consoles are geared around being online....MS is requiring it though....
Sony have been very quiet and have also stated they have the same "up to publishers" DRM measures within the PS4....
I'm leaning to Sony next gen too but i am also hoping they clear up their used games policy at E3 too...
I'm glad to see someone like major giving credit where credit is due.....should be more of it....Last of Us looks awesome...

Sony is definitely winning in the eyes of gamers at the mo...MS has obviously shifted focus though to being an all in one system which has annoyed even some of it's most loyal fans...
I have both current gen systems (which are both great) PS has some great exclusive content but xbox has better online games and services, which is worth $4 a month IMO....Next gen though sony looks to be improving things....PS+ is great and if MS don't up what they are offering next gen ...
This game looks f-ing awesome..... Next gen games like this, 50-70inch TV + surround sound is going to be amazing!!!!
I hope they bring it at E3.....If they announce all 15 exclusives and only 2-3 are involving Kinect, then they could win back quite a few gamers.....They also need to clarify their stance on used games and what connection requirements the system has.
I hope that one of the games shows off their claims of the cloud....perhaps if fable is their it may be an MMO style game....and The Forza developer mentioned it at the post reveal too....

I was a Sony fanboy until the current gen.....prior to that i didn't understand the power and strength of halo...
Got a 360 before the PS3 came out.....The multiplayer especially 1, 2 and 3 were amazing and is the one thing Sony is unable to match....
Clocked well over 5000 games of MP this gen....lots of fun times....

You say standby mode? and some articles say turned off! All i want clarified is which one is it?
Along with both Sony and MS stance on used game fees and a whole host of other things.
They have now stated that kinect can be turned off apparently. I understand people are concerned about privacy but I'm sick of sites copy and pasting trollish articles for hits!!!
I do hope they clarify things at e3 regarding this, used game fees and online requirements.
The only thing that would be revolutionary IMO would be if they can make the cloud computations work to give additional power to the XBO.
Time will tell.....and i hope they show something at E3 that utilizes it in some form.

You are certainly right in pointing out the GFC as a contributing factor...I'm certainly also more than aware of the corporate greed that could be associated with this change...
All i'm saying is that i would prefer publishers / developers to at least receive a cut from the used games market sales in the hope that this extra revenue would in some way come full circle, resulting in more games....

I game on PC (as well as PS3 and 360) and steam works this way and is fine.....
The main thing is that the used games market is killing publisher / developer profits making it very risky to make new games...If implemented right, having a fee will increase the viability of game development across the board which will give us more content across the platforms.

When apple introduce there new iphone, do they only talk about the fact it calls people? No....If there wasn't a market for other features on consoles, would sony and MS be offering it...?

I am all for publishers / developers getting more money. The used game market as it currently stands doesn't look after them...Games development costs are huge and new IP's are a big risk....If projected revenues included a portion of a game selling used then hopefully more games would be created due to the continued profits....
Imagine how much Sony would've made from god of war / uncharted or MS from halo and gear of war series if they received a cut from every ...
I want to like the XB One and i'm trying to see past the initial requirements of the system and the increase in governance of games etc....If they release games that are pushing the boundaries and look great and innovate, then i might get one but probably not at launch....
I'm certainly leaning towards PS4 as my first console for next gen or i will stick with PC for a while, but MS have been copping a lot of flak for things that Sony will implement as well?
