Yeah but abandoning Japan all together will hurt Micro in the long run. When and if they keep up with what they are doing, the japanese market will eventually come around. Each console release sees higher numbers and in the West, 360 does well. That is the area they want to focus on so why not make the games come out in all territories if it doesn't cost them that much to do so?
I like how everyone preaches freedom and other bs but you still vote for democratics government that abuses their power and takes OH SO much freedom away from us. If you think this is bad, this is nothing compared to what goes on in Congress. Intead of worrying about a "Video Game" why don't you worry about your ACTUAL civil liberties about to become vaporware.
Bubbles. I too work in the IT field and you are right. Who wants to browse the net with a controller? Do you want to take up extra resources by having an anti-virus? If you can afford a 360, wii or ps3, why couldn't you afford a budget pc? Doesn't make any sense. A 2+ ghz pc with 1 gb of ddr ram and a 40+ gb hdd with a 17" crt monitor should cost you 100 bucks or less.
Ouch that one hurt. Besides the MOST played game ever is Solitaire on what . . . that's right, a PC.
On the whole patent for the tech behind ipod, (hard drive for music), I think that MS holds that patent, let me look that up and MS owns a piece of apple. You don't give a failing company hundreds of millions of dollars for nothing. 400 I believe.
I don't know about the others but I do know that Konami posted 97 percent revenue losses sometime last year. There is a reason why you have to think rest of the world. 2010 126,804,433 −0.22% shrinkage people in Japan, and the world 6,869,500,000 so who do you want to make games for? I loved Dead Rising and DMC4, not as good as Bayonetta, but they've had some misses with Dark Void, control scheme to me was horrid. They need to make a Breath of Fire and a Mega Man game that's a...
I like Kinect and have mine pre-ordered, can't wait to get my groove on with Dance Central; but he is really ignorant with that comment. Hello Counter Strike Source? True a lot of people mmo and "Farmville" wow are people hooked on that one, but REAL PC gamers still play shooters. Of course I have to admit that I haven't played as much of late as most of my time has been with Puzzle Quest 2. Oh and a little game called Reach.
I agree that last gen ruled. One game you should check out if you can, Phantom Dust for the original Xbox. If they made a sequel, I would piss my pants.
There are crappy rpg's on ALL consoles, not just 360. Aside from the fanboy comment, this gen is not about rpg, it is more a shooter/action gen so all those good ole glory days of the ps1/2 are now history. Look at the top selling games, Halo, CoD, Gears, GTA4. All of those games are action/shooter. Besides, I loved Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, more for the LO. Personally, I think that LO is the best rpg this gen as it still remains old school with new twists. If Mistwalker would h...
I totally agree. It had destructable arenas, killer graphics and awesome story line. Phantom Dust is one of my all time faves.
Yeah I know. I whish MS would invest in more exclusives but they are trying a different strategy. We'll see if it works out for them. They still have close ties with GE which owns Activision/Blizzard (MSNBC, etc). They still own a plethora of IP and they have their Windows and Office fueling their bank reserves. True, owning more first party studios garners more exclusives but how many of those games sell at a healthy profit? The bills are still piling for their upkeep but if a game doesn...
Sony is unified. What are you talking about? Even Columbia Pictures has the "sony picture company" below it. Besides how many of those divisions are profitable? Also Universal says hi as they own more studios than most anyone else. sony bought Columbia from Coke and Columbia isn't even that big back then. General Electric which still owns majority shares of NBC/Universal which owns the majority shares of Blizzard/Activision sees sony like a speck on the ground.
Diablo 3 says hi.
Your comments scream ps3 fanboy. The only reason why you included ME is because the second one is coming out on ps3. All games you mention are ps3 this or ps3 that. You don't even mention Lost Odyssey and here you are screaming for more traditional eastern games and you don't even mention LO. Try games on other systems and you will find that there are more of a variety. I'm thinking about picking up a Wii again for Metroid Other M. I have 3 gaming caliber pc's, 5 laptops...
Never underestimate hackers. Hackers provide us the competition that companies need to remain fresh and innovative. Get use to this, "There is always someone smarter and just when you think you are the smartest, you're not."
One of the reasons why ps3 hasn't been hacked til recently is because of slow start sales and the blu-ray. Most pirates will target the disc drive and one is so expensive, you don't have too much room to mess up. Now when sony ...
I would literally crap bricks if they annnounced a Haloid. Samus goes off into space in her ship and gets caught in a wormhole and lands on Onyx. I know the whole theme is cliched to death but I wouldn't care. Imagine a HD Samus with the gameplay of Reach. "When you wish upon a star . . ."
Your right about blu-ray. I wonder how many ps3's would have sold if it weren't for the blu-ray. Talk about a double edged sword. Put blu-ray in it and boost your numbers, but then there aren't as many software or peripheral sales as people only use it for blu-ray movies. Decisions, decisions. . .
I don't know what you are talking about "always." Didn't the Xbox came in Second last gen? Just a thought.
You do realize that Halo is more than just graphics. You add in a MASSIVE battlefield, not like the tunnels in kz2, then add in the light coloring, unlike the eternal darkness that is kz2, then add in a level of ai that is not found in any other game, then add in a not yet replicated netcode and there you have Halo. Much more than just pretty graphics.
I am sure that they spent a lot on the engine and Konami is hurting so all they have to focus is Castlevania and MGS. Might as well give the fans what they want and what they will buy.
