Steam is overrated anyway, and I say this as a person who's used it since 2004. Steam may have some great deals, but it's all just an illusion. You don't actually own any of those games. Not only physically, but digitally as well. You're merely purchasing a lease to play them. I know I'm going to offend many by saying this (sorry if the truth hurts), but anyone who wants an all-digital future is an idiot. You're only handing the power over to the corporations. When I p...
I didn't play Chrono Trigger until the early to mid-2000s (via ZSNES), nearly a decade after its original release. I'd give it a perfect 10 then and a perfect 10 now. It's one of those games that come once, maybe twice every console generation. There's a reason it sells for so much money.
Ivy looked bad-ass in SC2 before they gave her that ridiculous bust size.
Knock yourself out. I'm sticking with III (VI) and VII.
@LoveOfTheGame
That statement was made in 2012, I believe. I'm sorry, but those don't hold a candle to VII, or even III. But that's just my opinion. We can agree to disagree. ;)
Hey, that rhymed. I'm a poet and don't even know it.
I care about games, not specs. But that's just me.
FF may not be completely dead, but there certainly hasn't been a good one since VII. CEO Yoichi Wada has even admitted to this by saying they wouldn't make a FFVII remake until they made a brand new Final Fantasy game that "exceeds the quality" of Final Fantasy VII.
Still waiting...
Say what you will about FFVII, but it attracted a lot of people who generally weren't interested in RPGs.
@dedicatedtogamers
"Seems a bit extreme. Are you gonna boycott Jaffe because he's outspoken? How about Turn 10 for all of their bs?"
There's a difference between being outspoken and treating people badly. When it comes to people like Jaffe and Bleszinski, you either love them or hate them. As for Fish, most people simply can't stand him. He treats a lot of people like garbage, so I can't say that I feel sorry for him. It's a fitt...
They didn't create anything. Their game just happens to attract these little shits. There's no excuse for threatening someone's life over a game.
"the thing is, allot of COD kids are growing up, smelling the coffee and moving past the same game they've been playing for the last 8 years."
I was just on Black Ops 2 yesterday for the first time in months (I was really bored). The COD kids are still COD kids. GTA5 will sell millions, but GTA has never had that lasting appeal that COD has when it comes to multiplayer. Not to mention BO2 broke COD sales records, so it's not about to go anywhere. Don't g...
That's very true. But it's just a matter of retraining your eye - e.g., If you play Atari 2600 for a few hours followed by NES, NES graphics will look amazing all over again. I get what you're saying though. There's plenty of games I love that haven't stood the test of time at all, such as GoldenEye.
While I am a sucker for 8/16-bit graphics, what I loved about the original Mario Kart isn't so much about graphics as it is about gameplay. I just loved t...
I have to agree. It's still a blast to play with friends. I see a lot of people saying 64 or DD is the best, which tells me that most of them are not even old enough to remember/appreciate the SNES. ;)
SNES version for me, too. I played the crap out of MK64, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. Didn't really care for MKDD. That's not to say either of those games were bad. I just have fonder memories with the original. That's all that really matters. To each their own.
Mode 7 ftw!
Lol at this article. I've been watching EVO streams for the past several years and everyone in those chat rooms are usually childish morons who are extremely biased when it comes to their favorite fighters. Not one person has anything remotely intelligent to say. Furthermore, most of those people, both on and off stream, were Marvel fans waiting for the UMvC3 top 8. Get your facts straight. The FGC is full of babies who like to complain about everything. Take this with a grain of salt. Th...
Turns out he didn't do any research and just assumed it was region locked because his disc would boot up to a black screen.
@rainslacker
He's ridiculously technically minded, so I don't think it's something he'd get wrong or misunderstand. However, you seem to be right from what I've managed to dig up on it. He specifically told me it had a region lockout on it and that he'd have to mod the console to get around it, so I don't know what the issue is if that's the case.
Thanks for the info. I relayed it back to him.
A friend of mine recently traded his Turbo Express for a North American Turbo Duo in hopes to play his copy of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, only to realize it was region locked (something that didn't occur to him at the time). There's nothing remotely good about region locking in the grand scope of things.
It's nothing new. I think Resident Evil had a lot to do with it as far as video games are concerned. If we're talking pop culture, then thank George Romero.
I don't think the zombie genre has been perfected quite yet. But with games like State of Decay and Day Z, it's headed in the right direction. They need to crank up the survival elements and tone down the novelty of killing zombies. Zombies need to be scary again like they were in Resident Evil 1.
I live in the US. I hope that person succeeds. Maybe it will change things over here as well. (But I doubt it.)
