"What if I wanted NOT to kill Maurice?"
It sounds to me like you, along with the doofus responsible for this review, totally missed the point of that scene. I have 3 nieces, so I could relate to Aiden's rash decision to pull the trigger. If I was in Aiden's shoes and it were my niece, I too would kill Maurice without a second thought. Keep in mind that Aiden didn't have all the facts about Maurice prior to making that choice. As the player, neither did I...
Do NOT listen to this horrible review. Had this game came out without all the hype behind it, I truly believe critics would be singing a different tune. I found the whole game to be quite enjoyable. The story especially. Play it and decide for yourself.
At least it's not Adema.
@Edvin1984: I was told by a reliable source that a gameplay trailer will be released at Sony's conference a week from today, along with a gameplay demo and more at E3.
He has a valid point. Opinions vary between countries, especially when it comes to games. It may seem a bit close-minded, but there's plenty of North American games that other countries simply do not enjoy, and vice versa.
Skill and timing? LOL. No. Just.. no. I played the mode enough to know that is far from the truth. It was a constant bombardment of Titans trying to take the flag. Nothing more. There was absolutely no skill or timing involved whatsoever.
Notice how you keep saying "I" or "I'd", which precisely proves my point. There was no teamwork whatsoever. With the way it is now, you're forced to make it on foot or hitch a ride with a friendly Titan. More team...
Agreed. But... all this talk about the user experience. It would be nice not timing out while in a private lobby.
Being able to steal and capture a flag while piloting a Titan was a HORRIBLE idea. Where's the teamwork in that? I for one am glad they came to their senses.
That's like saying the original Half-Life isn't based on the Quake engine just because it's heavily modified and called GoldSrc.
A rose by any other name is still a rose.
I've seen a lot of complaints about this and I don't understand why. "It's not Doom," "it's too slow," or "zomg zombies." Who effing cares? Just the fact that it's running on the Doom engine is incredible.
I'm not surprised by this. Video game history has proven time and time again that motion control is just a re-occurring fad, no different from 3D. Where's all the cool games for Kinect / PS Move? There's just no demand for it. Motion control and 3D will come and go just as they always have, but they'll never have a permanent fixture in gaming. They may create some great experiences every so many years, but we grow bored of them and move on.
Honestly, I think t...
@crusf
Why spend all that time making new assets when you can just regurgitate old ones? http://youtu.be/5E82ZkHTiVU
You're giving them too much credit.
@NarooN
I'd say Black Ops was the last good COD game (single and multi), but that's just me. My top 3 would have to be COD4 > BO > WaW. It's a shame that all of these sequels put a blemish on the perfection that was COD4. It seems most people that are still into the franchise only care about the multiplayer. That's probably because none of their campaigns have come close to COD4's. It was a great game all around.

He worked on Prey as a programmer. That's all I know.
Oh man, 1-hit kills was the only way to go. We also played Halo: CE with no shields. :D
I was just talking about this with a friend recently. I have so many great memories with GoldenEye, Perfect Dark and Halo: CE. In fact, the last game my friends gathered to play in the same house was Halo: CE. Everything changed once Halo 2 was released. :(
I've played every COD between COD2 and BO2 pretty extensively, yet I'm nothing like what I described above. There's always an exception to the rule. There's no need to dignify yourself with a response. ;)
I don't hate COD, but I absolutely loathe its community. Just for fun, go find a stream of someone playing COD Ghosts right now. I bet you any money the player will meet most (if not all) of the following criteria:
* Talks really slow.
* Has a limited vocabulary.
* Sounds like he just hit puberty/woke up.
* Calls everyone who kills him a bad player.
* Calls everyone he kills a bad player.
* Thinks everything is gay.
* Puts h...
*** SPOILER ALERT ***
"There is a lot of assumption in these words."
Hardly. My statement is what I personally took away from that whole experience. Those complaining about not having a choice during that first encounter with Maurice have all failed to mention the post-credits scene. It's significant because that scene doesn't really work without the first encounter when the player doesn't have all the facts, nor a choice. I don't g...
